Dawnie's blog a few days ago gave me the idea to start this thread for all the doggie lovers among us. Let's talk about what sort of pooch you have and their best moments. Let's see some pictures!!! And I'm calling to all you cat, parrot, hampster, piton, ... mamas and papas out there, too! And to bring it all into focus, let's talk about how our pets help us stay on track.
I'll go first. I have a tibetan terrier myself. They're fussy when it comes to food, the only food that he's really interested in is the one that is on my plate. Being an educated doggie mama, I set his meals down after I have eaten (has to do with dog pac ranking, the dog teacher told me). So, whenever I set my plate down, he'll come to the kitchen, sit down and then start STARING AT ME with those deep brown eyes of his !!! And I know exeactly what he's saying: 'Look at you, enjoying yourself, while poor old me has to watch you eat on an empty stomach! What you're having sure smells a lot better than what I'm gonna get... Well, just go ahead and enjoy yourself and don't mind little old me...'
But I stand firm. And I stop eating sooner with him looking at me like that. And I really love him for all the kisses and the snuggles that I get from him. And he has taught me so much about appreciation of what we have. Dogs are such creatures of habbits. Before he came into my life, I was all about 'the new stuff, new places, new people'. But him, hey, he loooves sniffing the same fire hydrants three times a day, every walk is ADVENTURE to him, saying hello to the same neighbours, and have the same 'kiss in the morning' and 'scratch my bottom in the evening' routine every day . He has taught me so much. And I've been thinner since he's been in my life, not just happier and more at peace.
Anybody else feel the same?

Pets I love pets. I have a coonhound named Chubby. The name really doesn\'t fit now but he was the biggest pup in the bunch. He loves to chase stuff, squirrels, deer, he even chased a bobcat. Don\'t know what he was thinking on that one. He is an outside dog. He is very loving to everyone. Then theres my cat Ember, she got her name cause everytime we built a fire outside she would swat the embers. She is a little hateful at times, but I love her anyway. Right now she is heavy with kittens. On to Ghost my other cat. She is the proud new mama of 5 babies. They are 10 days old. She is very loving and loves to snuggle. The cats live outside too. I have a big farm so its all good. Then there\'s Waffles the guniea pig. Hes noisy, and he bites if you stick your fingers in the cage. But if you pick him up he doesn\'t bite. I love to hear him \"talk\". Last but not least is my baby Achilles. He is a pit bull. He is 3 and is my little angel. He is sitting beside me as we speak. He is a Mama\'s boy. Wherever I go he is close behind me. He loves to snuggle under the covers. The boys call him their 4 legged brother. He does not like men other than my husband. He is great around all kids and women. He is just a big lazy baby.

[SIZE=\"4\"]I love this post, I\'ve always been an animal lover and would love to show off our pets.

This is Gunner and Jack. Gunner is a Black Lab/Boxer mix and he is just over two years old. We got him when he was 6 weeks old as a homecoming gift to my husband when he came home from Iraq for the third time. He is the biggest puppy, very fun loving and goofy. Gunner is my husbands nickname at work, hence the name. Jack is a mixed breed of uncertain heritage (we think mini poodle and Jack Russel Terrier) that I \"won\" the right to adopt from our animal shelter 2 & 1/2 years ago. The name Jack means \"God is gracious\". He was truly a gift from God. That is an awesome story in and of itself! I\'ll have to blog about it sometime.

[SIZE=\"4\"]This is Aslan & Sally. Sally is 4 years old, she is the black kitty. She has taken a liking to our 11year old son and has decided that he will be hers. She merely tolerates the rest of us! Aslan is a Siamese/Persian mix that we adpoted just over a year ago from our local shelter. He is about 1 & 1/2 years old now. He is a lover, and has picked my husband to favor although he does like everyone.

[SIZE=\"4\"]This next picture is our 5 year old son Noah with his pet Guinea Pig, he is just over 1 year old and his name is \"Fuzzy Boonanas\". Yep, Noah named him!

[SIZE=\"4\"]This last picture is of Noah\'s hamster, Winnie the Pooh. She is pretty neat because she runs on the top/outside of the wheel of her cage. Never saw a hamster do that before! She is only a couple of months old, and was a replacement to his old hammy that died at the ripe old age of 2!
