Annie – I think our Thanksgiving will be traditional this year. My brother has to have mom’s turkey and I make the pies for dessert. Ah, my mouth is watering just thinking about that. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans and gravy. Ah….now that’s the life…..if only there were no consequences to eating like that everyday.

StaceyC – YOU WILL REACH YOUR GOALS. We’re all here to watch you make it happen. You were right, client meeting went just fine. I think when we have a gain on weigh-in day we want to eat out of frustration…..and emotion. We just have to stay focused and understand that it’s not “real” hunger that we’re feeling but “emotional hunger.” And I know what you mean about the gym. I have that membership, sometimes I do DVD’s at home, other times I find outdoor activities to do. I find that after about a month, I need to change it up or I’ll stop working out because I’m bored. Last month, I was doing at home DVD’s and this month, it’s back to the gym. Varity is important……

Upper body workout done. That was nice and easy for a Saturday morning. Making dinner for the boys tonight but intend to stay on plan. Tomorrow will be my free day so I have to stay focused. Time to go food shopping…….

Stacey sorry you had that "emotional hunger", like Nikki called it, to deal with. You have been on a roller coaster with your emotion because of the health issues and your daughter. It will get better, you have been more focused lately so that will show on the scale next week.

Remember, it takes our bodies 2 - 3 days to show what we have done on the scale. Say you had perfect days on Tue & Wed. You won't see that on the scale until Thur or Friday. Say you had a really bad day on Monday you won't see the scale effects until Wed or thurs. Depending on fitness level, age and our metabolism it takes 36 to 72 hours for our body to process the exercise and food we ate.

Here is how I have seen it for myself the last 3 weeks. The last 2 weeks I have weighed everyday to check it out. I have read about this long time ago but I wanted to test it. So, I have been having my "cheat day/Day off" on Sunday for the last 3 weeks. When I check my weight on Monday I have lost a bit, tuesday it has been the same as Monday, Wednesday I have seen a .4 -.6 gain (sundays food/no exercise) but Thursday that has been gone plus some, Down on Fri, and down on Sat (weigh-in day). So, it take my body closer to the 72 hours to process.

Today I lost 1.6 lbs for the week (194.4). I am happy about that. It is not as much as the last two weeks but it is ALL FRESH FAT LOSS. I know I have also gained some muscle, my Body fat% has dropped 2% this week too. 1.6 lbs is not going to do that, but muscle gain will . The last 3 weeks I have exercised 6 days a week. This past week I really stepped it up a notch too.
I am thinking I could make my "dream Christmas goal" of 185 but for sure my "need to make goal" of 189.
Have a great weekend

Sheryl, I have a 'free day' once a week when I can eat whatever I want, within reason. Yesterday was mine, it was my birthday so I didn't even calorie count, and that is the first day I haven't done so since I started dieting this time 3 months ago... I had many a cocktail yesterday, plus cake, crisps, the usual party food, wonder what damage I did and when it will show up on the scale!

I did a little arm exercising today so far, and a little walking around Target, my 2nd home hahaha. The clinic my daughter works at is in that shopping center. I got her and I breakfast from Target this morning. It was delicious and healthy too. I end up going over there and doing my walking and I do laps inside as it's a super Target. It's really big and it's safe to walk around at night. And I kill time waiting for her to get off work.

I didn't eat when I felt the hunger and it went away that day. I am trying to not act on all those hunger urges, and lately that urge for pumpkin muffins.

I think I am going to go on a walk about 2pm today as Mel gets off at 4 and by the time we'll get home, it will be dark. It's a nice day outside here!

WEll, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, I hope you had lots of fun
Don't weigh yourself for 3 or 4 days, like I said in the the post above, it will take 2 or 3 days for yesterday to show on the scale so if you give yourself another day or two beyond that you should be fine.

You are doing great with your walking again. Keep it up. I love the fact that you go walking around Target if hadn't got you walk in yet.
If there is a will there is a way
