When I started googling this information, it makes it seem like you have to go really overboard with the cardio and I don’t think I was doing that…..talk about all types of confused?!?!

StaceyC - Stay strong and DO NOT GO FOR THE FOOD.....
That makes sense but I do think you are wise in approaching this with caution, you don't know if he was being concerned of drumming up business. I do know that more muscle means better fat burn so you really cant lose by increasing your weight bearing exercise.
Thanks for the info

Amazing body. Not a drop of cellulite. I think the bottom line is – and the one consistent piece of advice – is the WEIGHTS WEIGHTS WEIGHTS. This is what I’m focusing on so come December, I’ll do another body fat % and see if I’ve dropped, that’s really where my focus has gone. Do you do weights?

Hit an afternoon Spinning class. I think I’m going to stick with 3 days of weights and 3 days of cardio through the holiday season and reassess in January – after I take a new fat body percentage. I can’t go wrong with that!!!

WHERE’S SHERYL TODAY?!?! It’s not like her to be MIA for a day. I miss you Sheryl…….
HERE I AM. THANKS for your concern
I try not to miss a day but it does happen now and then. I had a VERY long day yesterday. I left my house at 8:30 am, went to the bank, made a 10 min stop in a store, Water areobics from 9:15 to 10:30. Showered, got dressed went to work, my first family was from 11:30 to 3:30. Then to the next, eating in the car (both times) but I packed all my healthy food in a small cooler. My second family was from 4:00 to 8:30 then finally home at 9:00 pm. After saying hi to my boys and seeing how their day went I got on the computer but I was so tired all I had time for was some of the HBR stuff, since I am the captain I need to make an appearance at least, lol
Just incase you don't know what I do. I provide respite care for Navy families with Specail needs children.
I am still tired today my afternoon family kicked my but 4 children 1 to 8 the older two are special needs and the younger two 1 & 3, well they are small so need lots of attention too.
I think you have a good plan, The Cardio burns calories and the weight training to burn fat and up your metabolism, perfect!!!

Annie – I’m so jealous!!! We’re planning to start our Christmas shopping after we get back from our Thanksgiving vacation. Maybe we’ll start while we’re away. We need to get started although I’m famous for being the biggest procrastinator when it comes to Christmas shopping. Last year, I got it all done on the 24th. Terrible!! I know….

Suzie – Oh, I love that you’re going to wait to see what changes I have with my body fat %!! That adds another layer to my self challenge. Okay, now I really have to get disciplined. I love it!! Thanks for that extra push!!

Sheryl – Thanks for explaining what you do. I was wondering when you were writing about spending so much time with families. And then coming home and having to take care of your own!!! WOW!!! How do you do it all?? I say you’re a SUPERWOMAN!!

No gym for me today. I took my dad out to dinner and had a delicious trout grilled in a wood oven with some steamed vegetables al dente. I should have known the restaurant was going to be good when they had us wait 30 minutes for a table for two. It was worth every minute!!! Absolutely amazing meal…..and guilt free. Can’t do better than that!!

No not superwomen, if I were they wouldn't have kicked my but, lol. Thankfully most days are not like that. I ususally only have one family a day, 3 -6 hours. This week is unusual not only because I have two double up days, yesterday and tomorrow (not as long as tues) but I am working all 7 days this week. Tuesday of next week is going to be a long one too actually 1.5 hrs longer, yikes!

That sounds like a excellent reason to have not gone to the gym. Dinner sounds yummy, yummy!

Sheryl - Working all seven days!!! Wow!!!! And it's the type of job where you really can't shut off and just daze for a moment or take a walk outside for a minute like I get to do. You have to stay "on" the whole time. I bet working out must help you a lot, huh?

Just got back from the gym......legs workout today. I got there and started stretching and found an annoying man using THREE weights machines at the same time. I was about to ask him if we could at least alternate sets when one of the guys left another machine I wanted to use. Made me realize how important gym etiquette is.......

Personally this is one of my favorite things about Christmas. I LOVE shopping during the holidays and I'm more excited for Black Friday than I am for Thanksgiving!!!!

StaceyC – YOU GOT OUT THERE!! You did it. You could have stopped and turned back and quit but you didn’t. You saw it through and got some encouragement out of it. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! I am so happy to be on this journey with you. Have you tried setting a long term goal [example: running a marathon] and a short term one [doing a pull-up, or 10 push-ups, etc.]? Maybe that may help you get back in the shape you want. I know they used to do that back in the day when I was part of the Wildcats. Are they still doing that?

I thought about setting a goal to do a 5k race. My goals mostly have been about health, like to improve heart function, keep diabetes under control, wear a smaller size. I am turning 44 in March so I am thinking about setting some goal for that. Man, that sounds old!! 44!

Nikki, you are always so sweet! Thank you. I would like to take a spinning class so badly!! I am bored with walking.

I am trying to do more resistance exercises and more toning. I kind of stopped for the past 2 months, and this am, pushups and dips were a bear!

I will wait and see what % you lose with your weights, see if there's some truth in it. I think there will be
we can work on this together. I need to be more conscious of using my arms and legs more. I have bad knees so I tend to not do leg exercises, which I know I should find something I can do.
