I am at a bit of a quandary today. I friend sent me a website that calculates how many calories you should be eating depending on your height, weight, exercise, etc. and it said that I should eat 2632 for extreme weight loss and they recommend I eat 3229 for "normal" weight loss. Right now I eat around 1200-1300 every other day and 1400-1800 (usually 1600) on the off days and then once a week I have a free day. I started doing this two weeks ago and have had my best results to date. I am now worrying that I am going to low. I don't understand though because when I was eating 2600 calories (recommended) I wasn't losing at all. I checked out other websites and they put my calories around the same as this place.

What do you all think? I really don't want to up my calories but don't want to harm myself either.

Hello everyone!

I need to ask a huge favor of someone from our group. I got a new job just a few weeks ago and really shouldn't have started this challenge so soon after a big change. I really don't have the time (or energy!) to devote to this challenge that I would like.

Will someone be willing to step up and keep running this challenge through Thanksgiving week? All you will need to do is set up each week's new thread, enter everyone's weekly totals into the spreadsheet (I can email it to you), and then post a summary after each week of everyone's points.

I am finding that after I get home from work, work out, and do whatever I need to do, it is pretty late before I get online to work on this challenge. I can't devote to it what I would like.

If someone will volunteer to take over the reins from here, maybe I will have things more settled down and ready to rock and roll by the Christmas challenge

Thanks, everyone!

I have ran the Heartbreakers challenge before, I know the ropes so I could do it. Not going to fight for it though

Tobey- my husband is a personal trainer and a nutritionalist and he and I were discussing the calorie thing the other day. I don't count calories, personlly but he told me that calories go by weight. There isn't a flat rate tha works for every body or everbody. The reason that weight watchers works so well is because they adjust your points according to your weight. The more you weigh the more points you get. So, theoretically you should up your calories to what they recommend. The problem is everyone will give you different amounts. Which is why I don't count calories. But you should do what your body tells you is right. If you don't feel starved on what you're doing then go with it. Just make sure you're losing fat not muscle. Try some time higher and see how it feels. If you don't like the results cut back! Play with it, experimentation will get you flying! Also keep in mind, the more you work out the more calories your body will need to function properly. Just do what feels right! It might take some time for your body to fully react to the calorie decrease, so keep yourself aware of any changes. Journals are great for that purpose.

Tuesday:

exercise: 6
eat healthy: 0 (hubbys birthday.... Food food food!)
personal goal: 4
daily total: 10
weekly cumulative: 45

I have the time to do it but ,seriously, I am woefully ignorant as to how to even do the basics on my computer. Sounds like Tobey is definately more qualified. ( I could be your "right-hand man", Tobey)

I had to walk to the college to turn in some papers today, so I definitely got a good workout in... I noticed since I started working out every day I haven't been taking naps in the middle of the day.. which is a good thing! (:

Great job so far this week to everyone! Keep it up

Oh, I think Cailyn may have said mama today.. I don't know though because she's only 5 months. It definitely sounded like it though. I cried a little, lol.
