I know part of this comes from having attended a Catholic grade school, but she also says she know her mom would killher. My own mother can't believe the conversations I have with my daughter, but my theory has always been, if they can't talk to me, they will find someone else who may just sway them to do things they know are not acceptable.
Open communication is so important, I always encouraged Holly to talk openly with me.

Will sure pray for you guys, I sure hope it is not swine flu.

so in my one class he is planning on (or has decided) to have us pair up with a person to take the final...so you can talk through the questions with a partner and you both get the same grade.
So maybe I should back up...I am extremely shy and he does alot of partner work. The girl who sits beside me is always the person I pair up with because we met each other the first day before classes and now we eat lunch and walk to class together...so I know I always have a partner if we play a game or something
However this is the final...I don't think she studies! While I am reading through my notes & book at lunch she is playing with her cell phone or something and then when she gets the test back, she flips it over...not that I am trying to see her grade, but it is just odd behavior?
So I am not sure I want to partner up with her...if I do, then I will probably be the only one who studies and it will either affect my grade because what if she says #1 is A when I think it is D? Or I will just study, do all the work and she gets my grade...
If I say I don't want to be her partner, I think she will be hurt. As I said, we have always been partners before...
my mom says I should tell this to the prof and ask to do the test on my own. My dad says it is just like life...preparing me for the real world because someday I might have to work with someone like her and I guess will have to do all the work?
That is tough, can you talk to the teacher about it?

I commute and my college is in a city I am not familiar with...she lives in a place I am not familiar with so I am not sure if the study session would even help. Furthermore, as I observed, the one day of another test for this class when I was studying she got her book out but didn't study...she played with her phone...
That cinches it, I would not partner with her.

But sometimes my dad buys cholorox and pours it in our well (seriously) or buys tablets of chlorox and puts it in. Water tastes nasty and makes me sick when he does this! So I have been stocking up on milk cartons and filling them up and storing them in the house. I figure if he goes crazy and poisons our water I have backup! ha
there are even water bottles that filter the water...I think. I remember either seeing them in a magazine or on tv
Good idea to stock up. That sounds dangerous with the chlorine?

I got a lot of walking in yesterday while waiting for Melanie to get off of work, which I do like that part. While I am waiting, instead of sitting in the car, I go walking around the center. I ended up walking 80 minutes yesterday! So, I am looking at the positives, although I have a very hard time seeing at night due to my migraines. I get blinded by the lights so I have to drive slower, but I can do it.
Good idea to walk while you wait for her!!!

I hope your daughter stays true to herself too. Lots of kids make it thru peer pressure. I really thought it would be the opposite and my son would be a bad influence and in trouble as he was always in trouble in elementary and middle school. My son is proud to be drug free and a virgin. He'll be 17 in january. Mel was the angel and we used to make jokes that she was our family spokesperson because she'd win awards and trophies all the time at school for top honors, validictorian, etc.

I met my husband when I was 16, and he was 22. He was so much older than I was! I got pregnant at 16 too. My mom and I were very close. I was one of those girls that got pregnant the first time. It all happened so fast! I was a good girl too. I didn't drink or do any drugs. I was college bound and that all changed everything. My husband wanted to get married and have a family. I was still doing high school stuff.
I know we would be great friends!!!!!! I think a dance-a-thon would be so much fun!!! And you know how much I love being able to talk to you about our sons. We do have a lot in common..so cool!!!

**very much hope that my daughter doesn't change either!!
