Hooray to that! I didn't have any junk food at home for months, but that leftover ice-cream box is evil, I tell ya!

My goal this week is actually reverse the trend that I was seeing since last Thursday with my weight creeping up and up and up.

Love the idea of this forum. Last fall/winter I lost almost 20 pounds. But since spring I have only been maintaining. I have spent the past 5 months trying to lose the last few pounds...I tell myself, "this week you'll get back on track." then I allow myself to fall off the wagon. I went for days on end last year staying within my calories and exersizing regularly. I don't understand what my deal is! Today I have done well. Lets' hope tomorrow is the same! My toughest time of the day is before bed. I want to snack and snack. Any advice?

Hi Shannon! I know what you mean, because I find similar tendencies creeping into my daily routine from time to time... (Oh... I've lost so much weight, it'll be ok if I have this or that just today... Then it happens again the next day... And it's not necessarily that you gain a lot of weight back, it just keeps you from reaching your ultimate goal.)

As far as snacking before bed time, the main thing that helps me is to be sure to eat enough throughout the day, then starting around 6 or 7 pm (well, dinner time) drink plenty of water. Obviously, you'll want to do that throughout the day as well, but especially be sure to do it in the evening. Yep, you'll go to the bathroom a couple of times, maybe get up during the night to pee. But really, what's worse, peeing at night or snacking before bed? lol Leida might have some better ideas than me... She seems to have her eating WAY more under control than I have mine!

In my experience, the calorie allowance are on the generous side for people in the lower range, so I only have success when I am eating very close to my BMR (no more than 100 cals over it). So, my BMR at the moment is ~1320-1350 cals, I try to plan my daily intake as no more than 1,400 cals without decreasing the excersise.

E-diets has an awsome article on a systematic way of breaking the plateau that I liked very much. Here is one of it's versions (they recycle stuff, of course, lol):

I am keeping my fingers crossed: got my period, and was down to 122 this morning. Gods, hope that's trend reversing!

Thanks Shaina and Leida. That's some good, solid advice that I will take! This morn. I feel good. Breakfast was egg beater with a sprinkling of bacon on 1/2 pita bread. It was yummy.(only 110 cals.) Then I went for a 2 mile walk. There is a nice little chill in the air. (Refreshing but not too cold.) Now I have to go to the chiropractor because I am having major neck probs.! Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi guys!! How'd your week go? I'm down 1 lb for the week, despite missing my morning run nearly every single day due to rain. Ugh.... I was so looking forward to going out this morning, but wasn't able to yet AGAIN.... Very sad.

But I'm happy about losing that pound! Since I changed my goal though, I'm more like 12 lbs away now, but still, I'm ready to get it off for good!

Hope to hear some good weigh-in news from y'all too....

Hi everyone. All in all, I have had a good week. Just got back from a 1.5 mile walk and plan some heavy yard work today. Shaina, the rain you are dealing with has really made me appreciate the weather we've been having. It has been SO nice for the past 2 weeks. (rare for where I live). It reminds me to take advantage of it while it is here....snow will be coming soon enough!
I am down almost 1 pound. I am going to wait until Mon. however for my official weigh in....wouldn't it be great if it was 2 pounds?? That's motivation to be a good girl this week end.
breakfast was yogurt with raisins and fiber one sprinkled on top. (110 calories) I think lunch will be a pita pizza (one of my homemade specialties that my niece and nephew love).
Trying to keep focused on these last pounds...they need to GO!!
