Good Afternoon everyone. I was able to speak to a nurse at my son's dr's office. I told her what's going on with my son. She suggests I start applying for disability as if he gets that there will be a lot more help available for him. I have thought about doing that but didn't think we qualify financially. But, in doing this I guess it will enable him to qualify for programs even if he doesn't get monetary support, and possibly he can get medical support too. So, this is something I am considering doing.

We meet with his dr Wednesday and they told me that I can speak privately to the dr without my son in the room. I have wanted to do this for a long time! Usually my son and I are in the room together with the dr and he hates me talking about him. This way, I can be upfront and state my concerns and not worry that my son is going to be upset. So, I am happy to have some new goals on working with this problem. I am going to write a complete list of everything I want to ask the dr too so I don't forget. Then, after that appointment I will decide where to go from there. I truly think my son has asberger's syndrome but I have yet to get a definite diagnosis. So much to do....always.
I am so glad to hear you are going to be able to talk to the doctor without your son present! I hope that you are able to have your questions answered and are able to work out a plan to help him.
I would also apply for the disabilty and take advantage of as much help as you can get for him.
HUGS!
