I took 2 of my 4 dogs out tonight for a walk. I normally carry a golf club for protection but have never had to use it. I was leaving with the dogs and I thought I should grab that club. But, never needing it before I left it at home.

So, I am a few streets from home and the dogs and I are enjoying our walk, looking at everyone else's dogs barking at us, and thinking how cute these dogs are. I look ahead of me and there's a dog on the loose. It was a large dog! I picked up my dogs as "Ciara" is 13 pounds, and "Tippi" is 8 pounds and I have them in opposite arms.

The dog is approaching me. I shout "NO!" It doesn't stop. My dogs start to bark. I am thinking we are about to die. I shout out "NO" again. The dog starts barking at us and speeds up. The dog leaps up onto me. I am freaking out! I back up and at that moment kicked the dog in the neck. I was wearing crocs too, which are like wearing air. The dog whimpered but retreated and I turned around and went the other way. I was shaking so bad! I have never had that happen to me before, and it's weird how it happened and it was the time I left my golf club at home.

Scary walking moment!!

Oh Stacey that is scary. I hate it when people don't have control of their dogs.
Thats just not right at all.
Glad you are okay but I bet that got your heart racing.
good job with the walking
take your club next time

1. Canada Day YAY, went for a hike with hubby 1.5 hrs. before coming home to make a big breaky for the inlaws
then walked around the park for an hour, then an evening walk for an hr.
2. 1 hr Step class at the Y, LOVED it!, 20 min. walk / jog to the restaurant for lunch

Hey. I haven't walked again now for 2 days. So much for my wishful thinking that I was going to be getting motivated this July. I have to get it together. I have gained back nearly 4 pounds!
