Milisa!! I am so glad that you found us! We are small (so far) but mighty! I hope you stay with us for the whole 9wks! You have great goals if you stick with them you will go far! What is your diet? I know that was the hardest part for me, I can walk for hours but for lunch easily tuck away enough for four! I didn't eat to many bad things just way way to much!

Again I am so glad that you found us, I look forward to taking this 9wk journey with you!!

How is everyone this morning? Do a "check in" with yourself and see how you are. Are you good? Awesome! Are you bad? I am sorry to hear about that, take a minute experience that emotional OKAY now move on! No sense in staying in an unhappy place. This morning is bright and beautiful, find something to be thankful for, count your blessings and experience the beauty of the world around you.

I am excited! I have officially (not counting what I lost without a scale) 25lbs, in took about 10.5 wks which isn't too bad!!! I also got my first green star WHOOHOO!

Have a great day everyone and expect good things to happen!!!

I am thinking of joining you all. Could you tell me what sort of weekly goals you will be setting or are we to set them for ourselves.

Natalie,
We are setting our goals for the most part ourselves but being accountable to our teamates. Also, we need to improve as the 9 weeks go along. We will have some fitness challenges (goals) and some motivational things to help keep us moving and stive for our goals. Everyone is at different levels so it is hard to say you NEED to do this. I personally, need to reall work on exercise CONSISTANTLY so that is a challenge.

Hope you join us at least for the accountability part.
Have a GREAT SUMMER!

Umm yes i live in a very humid climate I live in Georgia. As far as diet... i am trying not to think of this as a diet ... diets to me are made to be broken like I am denying myself something So i am trying to think of this as a life change and in that life change I am trying to exercise more and to make healthier food choices and eat more often. One of my big problems is i usually only eat onces a day which i know it bad on my system so i am going against my mindset and trying to eat mini meals and a snack.

Count me in! I need all the help I can get!

My goal is to give up Dr. Pepper. I drink one a day, and I know I should give it up, but this will be JUST the push I need.
Additionally I need to drink more water. I usually drink maybe 44-66 oz a day, but I need to boost that up. So I'm going to drink at least 3 of my 22 oz glasses of water at work, 1 while working out in the morning, and 1 at night!

Last - I just started at the gym, so I need to develop the habit of always going. It's not a goal specifically to this challenge, but my goal was to go 5 times a week (week days) and then do something to move my body on the weekend - (this summer the pool is an easy one!)

That is also the exact way I think of a "diet". I actually hate the word because when most people hear the word "diet" they think of some get skinny quick schemes, etc. Life is not a diet so I personally think, like you, that what we need is a life change not a diet.
Eating several times a day works great, it helps your body to get several small meals which it can quickly burn off.

You are doing great by just coming back! It really does get easier, once you get a habit going it feels wrong if you miss exercise or eat bad.

So glad you found us! Giving up soda is hard, think of this though. Soda has High Fructose Corn Syrup in it. This chemical coats your fat cells making them very hard for your body to burn the fat away. You have to work twice has hard to burn off any fat at all. This is why when you give up soda (and anything that has H.F.C.S) you start to lose weight.

What are you doing for exercise?

Welcome to the team!
