Another drag myself out of bed, kicking and screaming, kind of Monday, but here I am at work, consoling myself by checking in with Buddy Slim instead of working I feel very motivated to make a new start this week. The kids drew me and their dad a picture of our family and wrote us letters this past weekend, and it reminded me again that it can't be fun for them to see me gain weight again, and worry, and learn bad habits.

I used to be into kickboxing and trained for tournaments, and I loved how strong I felt then. I don't want to get back into training for hours a day (talk about no life!) but I'd love to feel so strong again, and proud of myself. That is my thought for today about why I want to lose this weight for good.

Hey ladies! I had a great weekend. On Sunday, I went on an hour or so hike with my family, then played an hours worth of softball. It felt great to be out in the sun and to be active. On Saturday, I went to a demoltion derby with my family, and although I didn't get to actually exercise, I did climb a lot of stairs several times and walk around the arena quite a bit. I am bummed today though, because for some reason I have gained 6 pounds since my weigh in mid week last week. Can anyone explain why that could be??? I don't understand! I was good the entire weekend!!!

Hey Ashley, I have gained a ton of weight in one week before (and recently!) and am so frustrated by how fast we can gain, and how slow losing is! So many different things affect weight gain and loss, including water and retention and how long ago you ate/drank something. If it's not from eating like there's no tomorrow (which is what mine is from!) then there must be something else going on. Stick to your plan this week, drink a lot of water, and see what happens this week. Don't get too discouraged! That's easier said than done about weight gain, of course.

Oh hun there are a lot of reasons why you might've gained to quick. Any chance you ate something high in sodium the day before your weigh in? To much sodium makes me gain 4+ lbs. over night, no problem. I am assuming it's not from eating to much, so it might be that you didn't drink enough water? Also eating bread makes me gain quickly no matter if it's within my calorie range or not. If you write down what you eat, take a good look and see if there is maybe something you did different. No matter what, keep going and don't let it get you down. Sometimes we work so hard and stick to the plan and the scale still doesn't work in our favor. Something I am going thru the last I don't even know how many weeks. Is trying to find the right balance for you and as mentioned before trying to find certain food that might not be your best choice no matter how it fits in the daily calorie allowance.
Keep going hun, keep fighting.... you will win this ((HUGS))

Just found that and thought I share it

Top 10 Belly-Bloating Foods to Avoid
By PROVIDED BY PREVENTION

What's in Store

The 4-day jumpstart is a great way to reduce belly bloat and start flattening your stomach instantly. You can lose up to 7 pounds! You'll drink Sassy Water (a signature Flat Belly recipe) while eating healthy foods and drinks that will help flush out excess fluid, reduce water retention, and relieve gas that can bloat your belly. Here are key foods to avoid on the jumpstart.

Salt Avoid the saltshaker, salt-based seasonings, and highly processed foods. Water is attracted to sodium, so when you take in higher than usual amounts, you'll temporarily retain more fluid--which contributes to a sluggish feeling, a puffy appearance, and extra water weight.

Excess Carbs As a backup energy source, your muscles store a type of carbohydrate called glycogen. Every gram of glycogen is stored with about 3 grams of water. But unless you're running a marathon tomorrow, you don't need all this stockpiled fuel. Decreasing your carbohydrate intake temporarily can train your body to access this stored fuel and burn it off. At the same time, you'll drain off the excess stored fluid.

Bulky Raw Foods A half-cup serving of cooked carrots delivers the same nutrition as one cup raw, but it takes up less room in your GI tract. Eat only cooked vegetables, smaller portions of unsweetened dried fruit, and canned fruits in natural juice. This will allow you to meet your nutrient needs without expanding your GI tract with extra volume.

Gassy Foods Certain foods simply create more gas in your GI tract. They include legumes, cauliflower, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, onions, peppers, and citrus fruits.

Sugar Alcohols These sugar substitutes, which go by the names xylitol or maltitol, are often found in low-calorie or low-carb products like cookies, candy, and energy bars because they taste sweet. Like fiber, your GI tract can't absorb most of them. That's good for your calorie bottom line, but not so good for your belly. Sugar alcohols cause gas, abdominal distention, bloating, and diarrhea. Avoid them.

Fried Foods Fatty foods, especially the fried variety, are digested more slowly, causing you to feel heavy and bloated. On the Flat Belly Diet you'll eat fats, but you'll eat the healthy kind--MUFAs (short for monounsaturated fatty acids)--that target hard-to-lose visceral belly fat. MUFAs can be found in oils (such as olive oil), olives, nuts and seeds, avocado, and dark chocolate. Yum!

Spicy Foods Foods seasoned with black pepper, nutmeg, cloves, chili powder, hot sauces, onions, garlic, mustard, barbecue sauce, horseradish, catsup, tomato sauce, or vinegar can all stimulate the release of stomach acid, which can cause irritation.

Carbonated Drinks Where do you think all those bubbles end up? They gang up in your belly! Swap these beverages for delicious Sassy Water (the Flat Belly Diet's signature drink). You'll enjoy this soothing, flavorful water on the jumpstart and can continue drinking it throughout the diet (many Flat Belly Dieters do!).

High-Acid Drinks Alcohol, coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and acidic fruit juices: Each of these high-acid beverages can irritate your GI tract, causing swelling. You can have these drinks in moderation after the jumpstart if you choose.
