Hey all, this is a thread where we can post descriptions of all the challenges for people to reference (particularly new members), so try to keep it just to a basic description and hopefully we can make it a sticky

The Heartbreakin’ Rockstars

Who we are:

We compete against The Wildcats and The Fitness Fanatics every week to see which group can lose the most weight in one week’s time. The idea is that the combination of a competition atmosphere and team support will motivate us to lose more weight!

How it works:

Every week, we have a new thread in the forums (It will be titled “The Heartbreakin’ Rockstars #__:”). There you can just talk about whatever is on your mind; we have an open conversation with everyone. Mostly people stop in to share how their day is going. Then, on Saturday we weigh in, total the weight loss for the group, and send it to the other groups by Sunday morning. The Wildcats let us know who won for the week.

Obligations:


You MUST check in or at least weigh in, regularly. If you have not been active in the group for at least two weeks, you are subjected to being removed from the roster. Although this might sound mean, if we don’t do it, we accumulate people in our team roster who we never hear from and it wastes our time, as well as prevents other people from joining the group if it is at maximum capacity. If you have trouble finding the thread, just let us know and we can email you or post it in our bulletins every week.

The Quest For Onederland Challenge


What it is:


This is a motivational group for all of us who are on the quest to drop that 2 or even 3 from the beginning of our weight! 199 is a landmark for anyone over 200lbs trying to lose weight. So, we’ve banded together in hopes of pushing each other to meet this much desired goal which seems to allude us all, “onederland”.

How it works:


In order to enable the most versatility to the group, it is organized into “zones”. Depending upon how far away from 199lbs you are, you will be put into a different zone. They are as followed:



White Zone: Onederland and maintaining

Red Zone: 1-10 lbs away (200-210)

Yellow zone: 11-25 lbs away (211-225)

Blue Zone: 26-50 lbs away (226-250)

Black Zone: 50+ lbs away



This helps to keep us from focusing simply on that silly number, 199. Rather, we have smaller steps along the way to look forward to, as well.

Obligations:

Obviously, for this to really be helpful we want everyone to check in regularly. Still, life is busy. The only thing you are really asked to do, is notify us of when you have changed zones (up OR down)

Wildcats:

The Wild Cats compete against two other teams--the Heartbreakin’ Rockstars and the Fitness Fanatics--to see who loses the most pounds on a weekly basis. We weigh in every Friday--with a 10:00 am cutoff time in your own time zone. You can weigh in earlier if you want, but preferably no earlier than Wednesday. We try to send out at least one e-mail or booster each week to all the Wild Cats to offer support and check on how you are doing. We also offer exercise challenges. You do not have to do them but we have had some members who requested them, so we offer them. You’ll find these exercise challenges posted on the Wild Cat profile each week. Again, it isn’t required that you do them, but it is highly recommended!
We have three forums. One is for cheering each other on (and having a little fun), and the others are our serious forums (divided into Cougars and Panthers) where you should post your plans, progress, ask advice, talk about your struggles, tough days or request additional support. We use three forums so that serious weight talk doesn’t get lost in all the jokes. If you find time, go to our Cheer section and introduce yourself there. You can find us by looking at the Buddy Slim menu bar and clicking Forum and then click Weight Loss Challenges and then click Wild Cat Serious or Cheer section. We will post your picture in our cheer section so other members know who you are.

This is a simple supportive group You weigh in every week, participate in weekly group challenges, give and get support/motivation.

The only rule is....you must check in daily
