Cynthia, I can honestly say journaling my food and buddyslim are the two most important things I do to get healthy. I use a written journal, the one on here is too complicated for me. I use one page for each day and I don't carry it around with me. I usually find time in the morning to plan out my meals for the day. Staying within my points allowance is much easier that way. (and if I change anything, it's such a pain in the butt ... so I find myself thinking twice before I add anything. I also write in the journal how much exercise, what kind...how my day is going. Even my weight and measurements. I kind of like going back to last year and checking out my old numbers. I know that having a "Piggy Bank" I will be even more successful. I was thinking of having something at coffee hour after church, but I sure didn't want to have to pay a dollar if I went over points at the end of the day. I want that bank stuffed when I reach my goal weight! Tiffany, you said; "I believe a little treat now & then won't hurt you. In fact the experts say its good for you to have it. BUT do most of us truly stop there? No...we let that same voice sneak in during the week and tempt us into something else." I can NOT do that. If I allow myself a little treat I usually don't stop. (and I hate having to kick my own butt, too much like exercise) lol It's like telling an alcoholic it's OK to have one drink. I wish I wasn't like that, but I know me pretty well by now, and I can't be trusted. Not that I have given up on treats altogether, but they have to be pre-planned and counted into the days allowance. No spur of the moment "just this once won't hurt". I guess the secret is to 'know thyself, and to thine own self be true'. Well, I'm almost done here, but I have one moment of joy to share. While I was changing my clothes after church John came in and told me to come outside, very quietly and not let the dogs come with me. I stepped out the door and there were three wild turkeys going down the drive. A big handsome Tom and his wife and a smaller one that I'm pretty sure was their youngster. Such pretty birds. I hope no one gets them for Thanksgiving Dinner.

Hi all, I need to be here right now.. the big bowl of mean Halloween candy has been haunting me all day. I had a few pieces and I know I shouldn't have. It has been a rough day emotionally. Thank you for all your kind words in regards to my party. I feel a bit better after reading them.

To answer the question about journaling, I sit down on Sunday nights and write out my journal for the whole week. that way it is planned out for the whole week and I don't have any questions about what I am going to have. I find it works for me.

I have attached some pictures of my Party from last night....

There is one of Mike performing surgery on THE ART TEACHER ,

You look sooo funny in that head, like some kind of bug, or beetle. lol I think Mike makes a pretty good looking doctor, too. Now let me ask, what are you thinking..... keeping that candy in the house! I would have to give to the kids down the block... or take it to your class. Yikes! If Mike wants it tell him to take it to work or put it away somewhere out of your sight. All in all, I think the team did a pretty good job with the goodies, coming in second is a big improvement. I have a hunch we'll win next week. I intend to do my best! lym

Thanks for all the feedback on journaling! I have a journal and I plan to start tomorrow. I'm just not high tech enough to do the online one. Plus, Sandy, I liked the idea of being able to look back on your progress and adding exercise, emotions etc...

I'm also the kind of person that can't just have a spontaneous goodie. I wish it wasn't like that and I could drive by the Krispy Cream and see the hot and fresh sign and pull in but oh no, I would eat the whole store! Then, I would spend the rest of the day eating bad because I already screwed up! Oh the vicious cycle~

Angela and Lorikate good luck with your teeth. Way to turn it to the positive Lorikate

Julie I love your pictures. I can tell your friends had a great time.

I am miserable now... I just ate 4 mini chocolate bars... I couldn't stand it any more. And as soon as I did it I felt horrible. I am taking a majority of the candy to work for my students and Mike is going to keep the other stuff and I am going to ask him to hide it.

I am going to try really hard this week to make up for what I did today. I have my food journal already planned out for the week and I didn't leave any extra points to be used for anything this week. I used them all up with my meals and planned snacks.
I hope that I have caught myself in time to change the next weigh in for me!LYM too

Thanks everyone! I've never had a tooth pulled and I'm pretty much living in fear right now. I've got a phobia of needles and dentists! My silver lining is with this tooth I can't eat any sweets so it's helping my blood sugar if nothing else!

I'm trying to get back into my exercising but having lots of trouble, I could really use a good push! I don't know why I'm finding it so hard, I know how good it makes me feel when I do it. Putting those 2 pounds back on has got me feeling really blah! Well, it's time to get the munchkin in bed so I'm gonna go and I'll check back in tomorrow. Good night to all my buddies.
