I am sucking at this challenge. lol...

Mostly because I don't like calculating the amount of fibre I am consuming... but I am pretty certain I am getting in at least 20grams, because I take 5 metamucil capsules a day, and I have been eating high fibre foods every day (either oatmeal, or miniwheats every day for breakfast - whole grain bread for lunch - and either rice or potatoes for dinner along with broccoli).

Good job to everyone on their fibre intake!

Hey there my sexy Phoenix Ladies! Here's an idea for our next challenge......

Most people tend to banish dairy in fear of gaining while on a diet. Truth be told, Calcium can actually HELP you burn fat! Studies have shown that those that eat 3-4 servings of LOW FAT dairy daily during a diet....lose 60-85% more fat than those that don't Calcium stored in fat cells plays a critical role in regulating how fat is stored and broken down by the body. It's thought that the more calcium there is in a fat cell, the more fat it will burn.

With that said....my idea for next weeks challenge is to get your 3-4 servings of low fat dairy such as skim milk, partly skimmed cheeses, yogurt etc, daily

Lets start tossing some ideas around so we can be prepared come Saturday

Michelle, I'm not opposed to the idea of shooting for more calcium (I take a calcium supplement because my doctor recommended it), but I will definately need ideas. Right now I'll eat an occasional low-fat string cheese or Greek Yogurt, and that's about it for dairy. I don't ever drink milk becuase it has negative effects (if you know what I mean! LOL).

I take the metamucil calcium capsules daily... getting in both a fibre supplement and a calcum supplement, so that is awesome that calcium helps burn fat!

I officially sucked at this yesterday. I was off to a late start and didn't have time to eat or pack food, so I didn't have breakfast or lunch. Dinner was a turkey breast sandwich on whole wheat with a salad. Don't know what the fiber content was, and after the day I had yesterday, don't care. Just putting it behind me and trying to do better, today.
