Wow Sarah, sounds like you have a busy couple of weeks ahead of you. don't beat yourself up too bad about not exercising. At least you are taking the stairs and walking as much as you can at work. That's a plus.

Have a great time!

I had about a cup of it and that's it. I didn't feel like cooking anything else- probably a bad thing but I swear these long hours and driving are killing me. Then I had a handful of Doritos then put them away before I kept eating them - I regret buying them. Robby finally put up the pull-up bar. I can't even do ONE! lol. He lifted me up so I could at least do one - but that doesn't count. He can do like three or four and that's it. He better be able to - he's a carpenter and walks/lifts all day! BTW - he's still working so our financial situation is still solid =)

Doing good today - having the usual so far:

B- 1 c. of raisin bran w/ skim milk
S - Activia with 2 tbs light whipped cream
No water yet - I'm going to the water cooler right now

I have to be honest and say I haven't been exercising - I take the stairs at work and I make a point of walking as much as I can during work but when I get home I just deflate. I love the summer but man I wish I had a pool - then I could tell you guys I did laps. lol

Anybody doing anything fun this weekend? I hope Robby and I will go hiking tomorrow or Sun. I'm meeting my sister for dinner at a new restaraunt we've never had before - I'm going for the chicken or salad I promise! And water to drink - no soda! I'm going back up to Michigan to visit my family - I'm flying up Tues evening and coming back to GA Sunday night. I have a full schedule while I'm up there and I might not be able to weigh in - but I will try! My mom will feed me healthy food because she's knows I'm trying to lose weight - but I am meeting friends and stuff a couple times so I have to watch it - I'm going to try and be on my best behavior with food while I'm up there!

Sounds like you have a fun filled week ahead of you. It is so beautiful here in Michigan now. Like 77 sunny and a slight breeze. I haven't had to turn the air on for about 3 days now. We have a family reunion this weekend. Ken and I are going up tonight....the kids left yesterday with my mom and dad. I know how you feel about exercise...I hate it most of the time. It seems to get better once I get started. Good luck on your eating and be safe. Enjoy your family.

Linsey- my plan is to try it next week, even though I've been working out for over a month I don't consider myself fit! lol so I'm not sure if I can do it, but I'll try
so I was at Curves and weighed in...I'm at 264...but I'm not happy/confident. It's one of those doctor's office scales, and I'm not good at finding the right weight. Wednesday I asked for help and the lady that works there weighed me, I was at 270, 4 pounds up from where I thought I weighed Friday. So today I asked another lady to weigh me (she worked there also) and she said I weighed 264...
but what if one of those readings is wrong? what if I'm really at 270, not 264?I guess I just worry if it's too good to be true, so to speak!
this is why I'll never be a nurse, lol, I'd never be good at weighing people.
I just don't want that kitty on the ticker to go backwards, ever...must keep going forward!

I just bought a book about Foods/Nutrition and I'm excited to really get into it and read. I'd like to be educated about what I'm eating. I found this interesting and wanted to share it with my fellow Wildcats! We not only want to lose weight but be healthy too, right? You may find me posting some things on here when I find interesting stuff!!!

Foods rich in antioxidants remain the best source of of these powerhouse nutrients.

Antioxidants, their Function, and Food Source you can get it from:

Vitamin C - protects against heart disease, cataracts, macular degeneration, and some types of cancer - citrus fruit, tomatoes, melon, strawberries, kiwi, sweet peppers, broccoli
Vitamin E - may help prevent heart disease and prostate cancer, and slow progression of Alzheimer's - nuts and seeds, oils, fruits, and vegetables
(Carotenoids) Beta carotene - protective against cancer, particularly lung cancer, and heart disease - orange and dark green vegetables, including carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, broccoli, kale spinash, apricots, peaches, and canteloupe
Lutein/Zeaxathin - protects against macular degeneration - dark green leafy vegetables, corn, sweet peppers, spinach, cabbage, oranges
Lycopene - May protect against prostate cancer, lung cancer, and heart disease - tomatoes, pink grapefruit, watermelon
(Flavanoids) Anthocyanidins - protective against cancer - blueberries, cherries, cranberries, blackberries, black currents, plums, red grapes
(Flavanoids) Hesperidin - protective against heart disease and cancer - citrus fruits and juices
(Flavanoids) Isoflavones - protective against heart disease and cancer - soy, legumes, peanuts
(Flavanoids) Quercetin - protective against heart disease and cancer - onions, apples, berries, red grapes, kale, broccoli, red wine
Selenium - may help prevent prostate cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer - whole grains, nuts, Swiss chard, onions, garlic, poultry, seafood, meat
Co-enzyme Q10 - may help reduce risk of heart disease. works together with vitamine E - all plants and animal foods

There you go! We probably all knew that those foods were healthy for us but didn't know exactly why - there's a piece of the puzzle. So get those foods in there cats - lets live long and healthy!

wow, thats good information Sarah. it will make healthy food much more motivating to eat!

Today's Accountability:
B-Oatmeal
L-Turkey wrap and a cup of pineapple
S- Curves bar and a cup of pineapple
D-salmon patty, broccoli and sweet corn
Total Calories- 1,773 again high, but I counted everything in the salmon patty, the salmon and crackers, even though I might be over counting
Water~check
vitamins~check
Exercise-Curves 30 minutes

Have a good night, everybody!

Lisa, that is great you can do 45 mins on the elliptical machine. I've always wanted to try that machine.
I keep wanting to eat more servings of fruits and vegetables each day...but I realized I don't know how to measure it...say I have a salad. It has lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, carrots...do I think, a salad=1 serving of veggies...or do I count all the little extras on my salad, as with this one it would be salad=5 ? I mean, if I was counting them in my calorie thing, I'd count them separately for the calories, not just as one thing...lol I'm confused, but if anyone can explain that to me, thanks
Today's Accountability:
B-Oatmeal and banana
L-turkey sandwich, house salad
D-leftover long john silver's fish
Total Calories: 1,455
I went over my calorie goal, I think. But I had fries at dinner, but not that many, there weren't that many left so I split them with my dad. So the serving size I had might have been smaller than what I ate
Water-almost there, I will get it in
Vitamins~check
Exercise: I did the 1 mile twice (WATP)
Next week I want to try the 2 miles, is it that much hard than the 1 mile? I'm not sure if I can do it...but I've been doing the 1 mile 2 times, trying to get my body ready for the two mile...
Hi Dagny--Generally one serving of vegetables is equal to a 1/2 cup. So, if you had a salad with 2 cups of lettuce, 1/2 cup of peppers, 1/2 cup cucumbers, and 1/2 cup tomatoes, that would equal a total of 7 servings of vegetables. Hope you had a great week!

Today I weighed in at 110.5. I'm glad that I upped my strength training. I know I am gaining muscle and that makes me feel great . My mom got me a pair of pants that are a size 2 and they fit! And fit good. I was blown away! The butt is a little loose and that makes me sad. Jeff said that I already lost my boobs(went from D cup to A cup), so if I lose my butt he is going to be pissed He is so silly. It sounds like everybody is doing good. Dagny, I think you should give that 2 miler a shot one day next week. I think its good to really push yourself beyond what you think you can do once and a while. Just take breaks if you need them! As long as you are moving, you are keeping your heart rate up, thats what matters most! Today is cleaning day, so I will be busy all day. Plus I need to pick those damn green beans again. Then tomorrow, we have a family picnic, then the carnival, then the reunion. Sunday we go to the RC track (my uncles have a club w/ the hobby shop) so Jeff can race. He has two gas powered cars. He has a really good time and I help my uncles out, keeping track of the races and who wins (they get prizes). So my weekend is packed. I'll try to be on later, but I'm not promising anything. If I don't talk to you guys again before the weekend, have a great weekend, and don't forget to weigh in!!! ((((LUVZ)))) GOOOO WILDCATS!!! (shaking my pom-poms )

WOW!!! Awesome, Linsey! Even if I only weighed 80 pounds my body would never fit into anything below a size 8!!!
