What Christmas Means to Me

The warmth and cozy feeling of love;
The singing carolers and beautiful turtle doves;
Children playing around the Christmas tree;
That's what Christmas means to me.


Mom and Dad kissing under the mistletoe;
Santa coming with presents tied with pretty bows;
Lights on the houses that you can see;
That's what Christmas means to me.


Stockings hanging from the fireplace;
A child with a wide smile on his face;
Shoppers hurrying down the streets;
That's what Christmas means to me.


Thinking of the night Christ was sent to give us hope and joy;
The care he gave to each girl and boy;
Knowing that, in God, you can always trust;
That's what Christmas should mean to all of us.


YES I WROTE THIS WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL FOR MY MOM, SO IT GOT ME TO THINKING THIS WOULD BE A FUN ASSIGNMENT, TRY TO WRITE A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT WHAT CHRISTMAS MEANS TO YOU, JUST LET IT COME FROM YOUR HEART AND MEMORIES.

WE WILL HAVE A NEW CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE MEMBER STARTING THIS MONTH HER NAME IS AMBER AND I HOPE WE ALL MAKE HER FEEL WELCOME.

Everyone is doing so well! Chistmas is coming soon, are we ready?
Anne, you ask what christmas means to us. I believe that christmas is my favorite holiday and when I was younger, it meant presents! But int ime, it has changed. Chrismtas means family! Being so far away from my family during christmas has really drove that point in. When I was still single and here, ohh, how I missed my family but now I have my own family, it has become a gret holiday again. It isn't so much the presents anymore ( I actually don't get any anymore) but it is so much more then that. SO hard to say... It is the taste of winter in the air, it is seeing the snow slowly drifting to the ground, the feel of anticipation in the children as they see the present slowly piling up under the tree, is the the feeling of togetherness when decorating the tree or teaching christmas songs. The smell of tape and wrapping paper. I love christmas. It is the smell of delicious things cooking and helping to make the food and then carrying it out and gathering around the table and seeiing everyone's happy faces and feeling loved. Christmas is so much to me.
