I'm Donna. I'm an RN and a yoga teacher. I'm scared about the cycle of mindless eating I've gotten into. So, I've come here to get started and have not developed a great plan for how I'm going to change it yet. My vague long term goals are:

Break my addiction to sugar
Get back into the jeans I just bought a year ago
Set a better example for my yoga students
Establish a daily workout plan

Day to day my goals are:
Limit myself to 1500 calories
Drink 80-100 oz of water/day
Balance my carbs and protein

I love the way you have suggested exercises and detailed instructions to do them.

I'm leaving next Tuesday to go to an intensive yoga training thing that lasts 18 days. I won't have access to a scale or the internet during that time. My goals for this trip are:

Walk at least two miles/day (the distance to the studio from where I'll stay)
No fried foods and limit dessert to healthy choices 1 time a day
No alcohol
3 hours of yoga/day

Those should be easy to meet since I'm sort of at the mercy of healthier friends.

Thanks for letting me in the group.

Donna
Welcome Donna! Love your plan!

It's great to have you on the team, Donna
Week's Goals:
*1200 calories
*Daily Vitamins and water, water, water
*Eat more fruits and veggies (going to the store soon, going to make healthy choices!)
*Curves 3 times this week...also going to check out the library for workout videos (not sure if they have any but it is worth a try)
*Lose 3 pounds or more!
*Challenges: Lower 2,4,5,7
Also I've been wanting to buy some weight things (like the 2 or 3 pounders at walmart) is there anything specific I should look for?

I haven't noticed myself if my body is looking different (probably focusing on all the things I hate) but both my mom and my ex boyfriend think my face looks thinner...so I'll take that

Awesome plan! You might also check Amazon.com for workout videos. I get the used ones, and have good luck and they are lowcost, too.I haven't checked the library, but that is also a good idea. I would make sure you have a mat or a towel to work out on, (I got rug burn on my elbow from my carpet) and GOOD shoes! Very important. Hope that helps!

All right everyone is looking great. Keep up the great week and welcome all new members to the team.

Had to switch things up a bit, because last week was not quite it. So some changes....

Goals:
Respect myself - Balance/Portions/Nutrition/Activity
Faith in myself
Give thanks before and after meals and snacks
Savor slowly
Record intake and outtake here
Feed my actual hunger
Find a little time in each day to relax in Silence

Each day I will type goals w/ a *check* for goals completed. Not aiming for perfection, but this week I treat myself with the respect I deserve, no matter if I feel lousy! This week I make the time! Will record here each night after my last bit of food is eaten.

My contract to myself. I even signed underneath my goals in my journal. That has gotta mean something.

I know that with myself, I didn't notice the change until I had lost quite a bit. I think its because we are so critical of ourselves. I know measuring helped me a great deal. I *know* you look thinner!!! 26 pounds is a LOT!!!! Keep up the great work!!! Great plan!
