Well FINALLY this Rockstar gets a chance to rest a bit from that hectic schedule. I can't imagine what it would be like to actually be a player in the NBA Playoffs and Finals, as I'm SURE they have it worse. Although in 3 days this week I managed to work what most people do in 5...nearly 40 hours!!!
Today they had the championship parade for the Celtics through the city of Boston. It was a pretty quick deal and there was no stopping along the way. There is a history to that and here's why.
Back in 2000 or 2001, whenever the Patriots won their first Super Bowl they had a parade that ended at Boston City Hall and they had a big rally there where all the players/coaches etc...got up on stage and made speaches and stuff....Well, since (and I am not exaggerating) HALF of New England showed up for that....literally half of the population of New England was said to be in Boston that day. Probably half of that amount out front of Boston City Hall. My brother and I were 2 of those people. I will say it was interesting and exciting, but at the same time, it was rather scary. Our feet almost didn't touch the ground (at times they didn't) because there were so many people in the crowd we were shoulder to shoulder and because of that your body sorta got lifted off the ground. While like I said it was kinda cool...having that little control over your life was rather scary. If anything had gone wrong in that crowd who knows what could've happened.
Since then, when there is a Championship in Boston (Red Sox have had 2, Pats have had 2 more) and now the Celtics have had 1 again. They do this "Rolling Rally" deal where it's just a parade and no stopping. That way it prevents from any really big crowd in any one location. There are still millions of people, BUT the are spread through the parade route instead of just at City Hall Plaza.
Anyway....random rambiling I know....back on track, I hope everybody is doing well. I am going to rest for a bit and then be back on tonight.
Keep on Rockin' everybody!
