Holly: I don't understand the points. I'm sure there is somewhere on here I can find it, but can someone point me in the right direction? Thank you!!
Cassandra-
Heart rate monitors: I have a Polar HRM that came with the chest strap and watch (the watch gives you all of the data). It wasn't cheap-at least I didn't think so. It was $100 here at our Navy exchange-though they could be less expensive somewhere else. At any rate, they are worth the money.
The machines like ellipticals and treadmills don't give you the accurate calories burned (my elliptical says I burn over 200 calories than I actually do). Also, the HRM is going with your own body's input of a low, moderate or high heart rate, depending on the exercise!
Shop around at your local sporting goods store or online-but look for recommendations through various websites so you know you're getting a decent one! Although I really like mine a lot, I really didn't have much of a choice! Good luck!!
