Default Serious walkers get the walk done!

Hello serious walkers
Let's do it.

Here are the rules:
1. Walk 5 miles a day. At the end of the day report and tell us where you walked and how.
Are you going to use a treadmill? An elliptical? WATP? Pedometer?
Are you going to count all the steps you take during the day or only the steps you take while walking (clocking miles specifically as a walk)? Please state at the beginning of the challenge how you would like to count the miles.

2. If you miss walking, and here where the serious part comes, you HAVE to walk those missed miles next day PLUS the required 5 miles for that day PLUS two more miles as a fine for missed day. You may end up walking 12 miles if you skip only one day of walking. Tough, I know. Life is tough too.

3. This challenge is designed to create a new healthy habit, just like we learned to brush teeth twice a day no matter what, we have to learn to walk 5 miles a day no matter what.

4. We will support and encourage each other all the way to 105 miles of the challenge. Let's think about a healthy reward at the end of the challenge (not related to food though).

Now, head's up, chest out, shoulders down, smile and WALK!!!! Let's move our lovely buns girls.

For those who just started walking, please determine how many miles a day you would like to get and STICK with that number for three weeks. You don't have to walk 5 miles a day. It could be 3 miles a day, but EVERY day.

I am in - I walked 6 miles today - Split between an outdoor walk this morning and a treadmill walk this afternoon. My goal is to be below 200 (13 pounds or so) by July 15th, so this should help

Yes I am in. Are we starting Wednesday? I am going to use a perdometer (count steps) or walking the treadmill with the perdometer on. I am only counting miles for exercise only. I get 5-7 miles a day just with my job so I need the extra exercise miles.

Yes ladies, we are starting tomorrow. Lara, 6 miles is excellent, I am so happy to see you here.

Zina, I am committing to walk outside and on a treadmill when I see my trainer. I have a pedometer that counts aerobic steps, all the steps, and miles. I will count aerobic steps only.

Thumbs up Re: Serious walkers get the walk done!

Hello. I am excited about this challenge but also very scared as 5 miles is intense since I haven't walked more than around the block in the last 6 months or more. I am going to aim for 3 miles a day and then increase a bit so that I am walking as much as I can, and doing what is at a healthy level for me. This will do wonders at getting some weight off in a hurry!! So, I am excited about this! And, I want to run out right now and get a pedometer because I am thinking I probably walk a lot more than I know I do just running around the yard, the schools, etc. So, count me in.....LET'S GET WALKING!!!!

I am smiling Tatiana can't you see me. I was smiling all the way home today when I got caught in the rain. I was still smiling when my dear hubby said " I told you it was going to rain".
