Tiffany, Giant Welcome to this challenge. I think you can count today's 5 miles toward this challenge. What do others think?

Annia, if your personal challenge and new habit is to walk 6 miles a day - go for it. Just do it every day for the next 20 days.

Dawn, Gosh... the rules are about to kick in... sorry. You need to walk 4 miles tomorrow plus two more as a fine -total of 6 miles. Unless you are going to count just steps and count your kick boxing class... you need to decide. Personally, I would count kick boxing and wear a pedometer. It's a strenous exercise and you move a lot. Remember, 2000 steps are equal to 1 mile. I bet you did more than 2000 steps in your class.

I walked 5 miles and my total count on a pedometer is 11526. 100 more miles to go. We can do it.

Welcome Jasmyn. So you absolutely "have to do" number of miles is three, right? And you are building it up to 5. And I did notice that you love me but LOVE your Ipod. I am wounded. LOL

Good job everyone. I was worried about this challenge because of the commitment.

Don: At least you could be killed in a very healthy, empowering, and supportive way. Oh wait, I should call my lawyer if I leave it this way! Let me rephrase: pounds of fat will definitely be killed along the way. And yes, people will observe that.

Everyone, please read the first page with the rules. For example: Don, you did not make it to 5 miles today, It means that if you can't walk 0.4 miles by the end of today, you would face 5.4 miles tomorrow PLUS 2 miles as a fine!

This is the last time I am playing a police officer/rule enforcement.

Good night and happy walking tomorrow.

Oh, ye of little faith.

Day 1 is complete. 5.12 miles and 944 extra calories burned.

Now, Day 2 may be a different story... but don't count me out.

I did 35 minutes on the ARC trainer and 25 on the treadmill for about 2.5 so I am rounding down to 2. I am having a really crappy day, so my intensity wasn't that great. Hopefully later will be better

Default Great job, Lara!

Especially considering the day you've been having. Stay with it! You're an inspiration for me to keep plugging along.

So far, I've knocked down 2 miles. I'm weary from yesterday's THREE workouts, so my body is whining a bit, but I managed to stay with it.

Sidenote: I awoke famished this morning! That's a change for me. I'm guessing this new elliptical schedule has started something.
