- That means I completed 110+ miles in 21 days during the challenge.
- I burned just shy of 22,000 calories doing just the challenge.
- My total weight loss during the span of the challenge was just shy of 14 pounds.

Wow!!!

This has been a great challenge. Thanks everyone for organizing it, participating in it, and cheering us all on. It has been very good for me and I'd do it again in a second.

WooHoo, great job Don!!!!I would do it too but can't start anything now ,Got to take care of my mother.

Guys, I am still working! I am incredibly busy but I walked 3 more miles and completed my duties.

Let's take a break for one day only, take a deep breath and refocus. I have a plan that will be posted tomorrow for everyone on BS to see. It would be great if you too post blogs about your experience in the serious walkers challenge. What did you learn about yourself, how you did it, what was helpful, was was not, etc... Brag about your weight loss and achievements. Let's engage more people and show them that it's doable.

Don, it's amazing that you completed 5 miles before 10 PM. Is it going to rain tomorrow in the Pacific Northwest? LOL

Dawn, I am sorry about your mom. Please take care of her and yourself also.

Zina, some things come with a price. It was totally worth it to see your mom. Well, that makes me want to call my mom tomorrow and talk to her.

Good night all the walkers. It's not over yet.

ETA: Tomorrow will be a defining moment. You don't HAVE to walk for the challenge, but WILL you walk anyway because it's a new habit?

HEHEHE.... devious laughter....
Thanks "B" for all your great work and encouragment!!! I will post a blog of what our challenge did for me in a few days.Just too tired today..
My mother came out of surgery good, now the recovery.

I did walk 7 miles today. And I have to continue working.. it's so busy here and I am the only one handling what's coming.

Ladies and gents, we have officially completed the challenge to create a new walking habit.

Don - lost 16 pounds. Developed muscles and confidence that he can do strenuous workouts.

Tiffany - made the miles while hiding from us in the crowd of kids who also got healthier walking with aunty. Lost two pounds and is off to losing more.

Annia - night shifts and still committed to 6 miles a day - our hero! Walked through tiredness, being busy with her sick mom, and being stressed about life, prices, and work.

Zina. Liked the fine so much she decided to do it twice. Walked a lot in the evening instead of morning. Now with the chickens she will have to get up early.

Dawn - committed to walking 3 miles, did the fine almost immediately, and held onto her commitment no matter what. Lost one pound but gained muscles and shrank significantly.

Now onto a new adventure - interval training. Look out for the blog and a new thread with RULES.

So who else continued with a new habit today?

ETA: Dawn, I too am glad you mom had a surgery. I wish her a speedy recovery.

I'm still going!

I may not do a full 5 miles today, because I'm opting to take a day "off". I think I'll add an upperbody workout tonight too. I should finish the day with 3+ miles.

I haven't yet taken my measurements, but in the past few weeks I've watched as my clothes got bigger and bigger. I have to "roll" the top of my walking shorts down 3 times to shorten them and to make the waistband snug enough to keep them on. My shirts fit like tents right now.... short sleeves come 3" past my elbows and the bottom of the shirts come halfway down my shorts.

NOW, it's time to start strengthening the upper body the way I did the lower body.

Dawn, I am SO glad to hear your Mom is out of surgery and recovering now.

Dawn I am glad all worked out ok for your mom.
Well I feel bad because I didn't do all of my fine. I got my 5 miles in and that was all today. I did do sack races with the kids so maybe I can count that. LOL See picture... We had our end of school year party today. I was on my feet from 5:30pm until now at 9pm. I invited another daycare to play outdoors water games with us. So I clean house today, had the party, then cleaned house again. I will get a blog posted soon on my 3 week accomplishments.
Here's a quick preview. I think I lost a total of 2lbs- maybe 3lbs.
I measured myself and lost 1/2 inch in arms, legs, and waist.
