Good morning ladies.
A new day and new choices so make. what to do first, what to eat. Im craving chocolade today. i can't stand it. i will allow me 2 cookies (snackwell 50 cal each) later. they are pretty good. I am not very hungry right now though. but i know breackfast is the most important meal of the day. so it will be cereal with banana and a glas of milk. then for lunch i have a salad. with 3 saltines and i think for dinner we are going to have grilled chicken en turnip greens. i don' tknow if i like them or not. I told my MIL i have to eat between 5 and 5.30. i feel so much better when i do that. yesterday we ate at 6.30 and i felt bad the rest of the night. felt like the food just stuck with me all night. don't know how to explain. anyhow, i am going to drink half my bodyweight in ounses of water. bout 5 bottles. I need to buy a messure ment tape. my ring is now just falling of my hand. have to put it behind my wedding band now and that one is about to fall off too.
this would be day 5 with no pepsi. I really never thought i could do it. only 1.5 pounds to go and i will have reached my goal for the week. I am going to work a little harder. hope i make the 10 jumpingrope thing today lol.
have a great day everyone.

hugs

I think it has to do with the fact that I give it a day or so rest, then I feel a little better so I exercise as usual then I'm in a lot of pain for a few days, ect. So I decided to do some research to see if the elliptical has been causing my spurs. What I found out is that the spur is a sympton of the problem and is not really the cause of the pain. I have planter fasciitis which is inflammation in the fascia which is a long ligament type thingie in the bottom of the foot. I somehow have little tears in this ligament which in turn causes the pain and inflammation. The spur is caused by my body's response to this injury - too much calcium in one spot. The site I am on lists all the different treatments for this, which I am aware of from the first time this happened to me a year ago - ice, stretching, night splints (soooo uncomfortable!), massages, and rest - no activity like walking, running, tennis, elliptical, stair climber, treadmil. Trying to work through it is the worst thing I could do and it only prolongs the injury as evidenced by this section I copied :

As an athlete, competitive or recreational, the hardest part of all injuries is the healing. Taking time off of training or exercising can be extremely frustrating. The biggest mistake many active people make is trying to push through the pain and hope that the condition will just go away on it’s own. Trying to “walk off” plantar fasciitis is a big mistake. Act quickly! Start treatment immediately.

So basically I've been doing all the wrong things. I need to get back to what worked the last time. Swimming and biking is recommended so at least I have that! I will be a swimming fool! I wish I could bike but around here I would get hit by a car. Seriously! I still don't know if the elliptical is the cause of the tears in the fascia or if I tore it doing something else and the elliptical just aggravates it. Will have to do more research. I'm sorry I'm boring you all with this but when every step you take literally is so painful you want to cry it kind of consumes you so I just had to share this and get it off my chest. I'm not letting it get me down like I did last time! This time is different - I have you guys! I will focus 110% on healthy eating and exercise as much as I can in the pool and hopefully soon I will be back to doing other things.
i hope it will get better soon.
footpain is terrible. i wake up everyday with pain in the bottom of my feet. can't hardly walk for the first few minutes and i don't know why. I hate it and it is so painfull. I thought it might be from weighing so much and wearing non supportive flipflops. but i have it too when i wear my walking shoes.
anywho...i do hope the pain will go away soon for you. you are so full of enery, you inspire me. thanks for opening yourself up to us.
oh and what website did you go on to find out all this stuff???

Anyway today was really good for eating, didn't get a chance to get out and walk... it was raining this morning, plus I was feeling lazy and wanted to catch up on the Bachelorette! I LOVE Jason, and DeAnna needs to just dump the rest of them... Anywho... But I do feel good about eating, I might be able to do a quick walk before I leave work. Hopefully I will lose something soon. I've been stuck for 2 weeks. Oh well... at least I am maintaining.

My boys are good. Jack is healing from his burn, he hates his cream but it is helping it heal... so it's worth it I suppose. Today I put it on with wet cotton that helped. My oldest was so funny, kept telling me that Jack had owies and that he needed to kiss them. Luckily he was kissing Jacks cheaks which are blister free. Jack thought kisses were funny and he was laughing so hard. It was awesome. Well anyway... I should get back to work. It's been a super busy night... I don't like spring time, it brings all the suicidal people out... It's a rough time of year.

Have a great night everyone!!!
I am glad you had a good eating day. you will lose some weight soon, just keep believing in yourself and do your workout and try to eat as healthy as you can.
I am so glad jack is getting better. It is so sweet how the kids interact with eachother. I love it when my big girl makes the little one lauch so hard she fals over. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Hope not to many peaple trying to hurt them selves.. oh my gosh the idea allone. I have great respect for what you do. spring is almost over and summer is near. maybe they will stop trying to hurt themselves.

Christine, that is wonderful that Jack is getting better. Good idea to apply the cream with wet cotton. Awww, poor little thing. It is nice and so cute when little ones support each other- they are so compassionate. Well I read your post earlier about the percentage of children that keep the sun allergy and I would say the odds are definitely favorable then. That is good. Well, he should be all better soon. It sounds like you have a very stressful job, which is enough... Oh and because eating is at least 80% of our weightloss battle don't feel bad about the lack of exercise -you did good. It sounds like despite the stress you are keeping your focus, which is a hard thing to do- that usually brings on binge eating for me. Good job Christine!!!!!!!!!!!

Yvette, yea that is wonderful that all of your rings are falling off! First of all, seeing those results in your hands is a good indication about the rest of you! Secondly, yea for you giving up soda for 5 days! That is really hard! I know because that is one of my vices too. It seems if I lay off the soda though I pick up a coffee instead. Personally though I think it is better then the soda as far as bloating is concerned... Well sounds like you have a plan for the eating today, which should keep you on track. Stay focused and you will have another good day under your belt and reach your goal for this week in no time.

Hi Yvette. You may have a few tears in your fascia. One of the symptoms of planter fasciitis is foot pain in the morning. It does get better as you walk. It is because your fascia is relaxed all night long. The splint I wear at night helps to stretch my foot all night but I pull it off in the middle of the night because it is so uncomfortable. My foot pain is so painful when I wake up I have to sometimes crawl or hobble to the bathroom. It does get better throughout the day but it is always with me. You can find some stretching exercises on the website I went to - it is Heel Pain & Plantar Fasciitis :: Diagnosis and Treatment Information. Do them right when you get out of bed and you will feel better.

You are doing so great Yvette. You are so active - cutting down those trees - that's a big job! Keep up the great work!

Morning Ladies

Ok, I forgot to logg off yesterday. From reading posts and blogs it seems like a lot of us has been having problems logging on or getting error codes. I stopped using the food journal because it's full of problems.

To Rebecca, Yvette and Sabine, I hope your body heals soon so you can get back to your normal routine. Kudos to each of you for taking the time to visit doctors, do research and modify your workout routine so that you do heal but get in your exercise even if it's not ideal. Injuries are just minor setbacks and with proper care you will bounce back soon.

Christine, good to hear your son is healing. You are fortunate to have such loving children. Keep us posted on his progress.

I'm very proud of myself. Yesterday after work I went back for kickboxing but also put in an additional hour for yoga. So for the past two days I've done 3 hours of exercise each day. This is the first time I pushed myself to do three hours; not 3 consecutive hours as in the past but I've done it. I also ate well last night.

This morning I decided to rest up. Tonight I plan on going back to they gym but will make it an easy day; maybe an hour on the elliptical on cruise control.

Have a great day everyone.
