What is your label?

Power Up with a Power Label
JORGE’S DAILY FIT TIP
By Jorge Cruise, LifeScript Fitness Coach
Tuesday, May 20, 2008

Sometimes we brand ourselves with humorous yet self-destructive catch-phrases. For you to achieve your ideal body, you should create what I like to call a "power label" for yourself that gets you excited about exercising and eating well. Think about it. Too many people unconsciously label themselves in ways that make them feel bad: overeater, couch potato, sugarholic, meat-and-potatoes guy, over the hill, or big as a house. The human brain is such a powerful instrument that you will eventually become whatever you label yourself. To combat these negative associations, I want you to think of a new, positive power label for yourself. Pick a favorite fitness activity or healthful food you love, and make it part of your new identity. New monikers could include “running renegade,” “broccoliholic,” or “pilates powerhouse.” Your power label will serve as a daily self-affirmation that’ll keep you mega-motivated!

I have begun the Eat-Clean Diet (I just HATE when they label a book "DIET"). It focuses on eating more natural foods, with the least amount of processing and sugars. It's incredibly fibrous, so much so I have trouble eating the next meal. I also feel like it keeps my blood sugar very even... something I was really looking for but low-carb was just too drastic. I dropped 4 pounds overnight, I'm sure mostly water. But, I hit 150, and I haven't been this light in a year and a half... feels good!!
So.... I'm not counting calories, just focusing on what I'm eating, and portion control.

Yesterday, Monday

B: Oatmeal w/berries, 2 egg whites
S: whey protein shake made with a banana, FF milk, flaxseed & oatmeal
L: tuna, spinach salad w/shredded carrot, diced tomato, raspberry vinegrette
S: pear and handful of almonds
D: Low cal frozen dinner

Got my water in and worked out with Jillian, Woo Hoo!
Which Jillian workout do you do? I've got a bid on a DVD on Ebay, it's the 30-day shred- is that the same one you do??

Yep, it is. I just comitted myself to trying it tomorrow morning. Our cable company has this on demand thing that you can order shows for free. The 30 day shred is in there and I was just talking to Kama about it. I am going to try it tomorrow. If I am not on during the day tomorrow she is sending over the naked paramedics with chocolate to help get me off the floor and back into bed

Betsy, any chance you can do that with your cable company? (Sorry, I'm not sharing my paramedics!)
