Don't Pin Your Fat Loss Hopes On Products!

Posted: 20 May 2008 02:06 PM CDT

There is a flood of products that supposedly help you burn fat and lose weight. At best, these products are temporary solutions to your fat and weight problem! A general rule for you to follow with regards to fat loss/weight loss is this: Don’t waste your money if the program offers a quick solution to your weight problem! Why? You need a permanent solution to your weight problem. A permanent solution takes hard, smart work and sacrifice on your part. Human nature always seeks the path of least resistance.

Some of these products are: Hoodia, green tea, numerous fat burn products, fat loss pills, patches, creams......you fill in the blank! If you are significantly depending on these products to fix your problem, you will be disappointed with a lighter wallet to boot! And, some of these products are potentially harmful (remember ephedra)! If you're wondering about the safety of any supplement, check out the "Generally Regarded As Safe" (GRAS) list published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Doctors, dieticians, and fitness experts agree that the best way to lose fat and weight is to eat higher quality calories and increase your physical activity. Weight training (including body weight training) and interval cardio exercise will tone your body and provide the heart health you need. Just make the commitment and work hard! Your body will thank you!

Make sure they are naked and bring chocolate!

Besty, if you have digital cable with on demand you should be good to go!

Michael, I will pray for you, but my advice comes in two words: PORTION CONTROL!

Everyone brings a copy of his or her recipe to share, and your guests leave with a handful of healthy recipes to make on their own!
That is such a great idea!

You guys are sooo sweet I love the support! It really does help. I'm confident that I will be just fine, and as long as I keep in mind how awful I feel when I overeat, I should do well. I will be happy as long as I do some kind of activity while I am there, even if it is just a walk. I'm not even going to bother with a workout video. I'm too self consious to workout in front of people. Thanks again!

If I am not on during the day tomorrow she is sending over the naked paramedics with chocolate to help get me off the floor and back into bed

Betsy, any chance you can do that with your cable company? (Sorry, I'm not sharing my paramedics!)
I have on demand ... where is it in the on demand menu?? I looked at it a little bit (we just got it last week) and I didn't see anything like workout videos. I need to try new things because I have a sinking feeling that I may be stuck. Plateaued (sp) or something. I think that would be perfect to jump start my body. Thanks

Accountability for Tuesday and Wednesday:
Tuesday:
B: eggbeaters, toast, kiwi, tea w/ honey
L: hardboiled egg, soup, fruit salad
D: 3 oz. Delmonico steak, soup
S: WW yogurt, Quaker mini delights
Total:1113

Wednesday:
B: eggbeaters, toast, kiwi tea w/ honey
L: soup, 1 egg and 3 whites scrambled w/ salsa
D: Soup, sausage
S: WW bagel, sun chips
Total:1142

Drank all my water both days and did the nivea video and 30 min uphill treadmill both days. Thanks for the advise about the fitday website!! I love the reports. I may be slightly obcessed with them actually. I love the custom goals!! I'm trying to get in more protein. I got some for making a protein shake so that may help. I hope I see a difference this week, maybe in my measurements, because the scale hasn't budged. I am probably building muscle, though, because I have been sore every day. I have been really busy trying to get ready for this reunion. Wish I could have been on here more, but I have absolutely no time. Everybody is doing great!! Keep it up!!

I like the idea of coming up with a new name - I have to think of something. It would be fun if we all did and could use it for the site!
Have a great day, I'll check in later tonight. I have to go to L.A. today
Lunch - Subway turkey wrap 190
apples slices 35

so I'm up to 475 for the day and mighty excited!
