They just keep on walking. Animal control knows me by first name because strays seem to find me(they probably know I'll call!). They are always surprised when I call with another one and have mentioned the above attitute with the community. Weird...

When we lived in Olympia, WA we had a little silky terrier named Princess. She's in Heaven now, but we keep her ashes in her little backpack so she can go hiking. She always loved to hike with us, until she got too old. Anyway.... she got lost. I was carrying groceries in and somehow shut her out front and she just walked off. I was like you, just sick. We lived right by St. Peter Hospital and Group Health. Lots of cars and traffic. My husband came home and we drove all over the neighborhood. When we got back home there was a truck sitting in front of our house. When we pulled up a man got out and he had Princess. He said he was pulling out of the Group Health parking lot and saw her walking down the sidewalk. He said he just knew someone was worried sick, so he put her in his truck and started driving around the neighborhood. When he went down our street she started acting all excited and when he got in front of our house she barked and jumped at the window,so he just asked the neighbors if they knew her and when they said yes he decided to wait. He knew we must be out looking. Wasn't he just an angel? We were so excited and happy to see her, he just drove off and we never even got his name. (I always get teary eyed when I tell that story)
