Getting (and Staying) Motivated
The online Message Boards are the heart and soul of JillianMichaels.com. Ours is a fun, vibrant, and welcoming community where we tell it like it is and share the ups and downs of losing weight and keeping fit. Each one of my wonderful teammates can post and tell the rest of us about the awesome progress he or she has made. As you know, motivation is the key to my program and crucial to any successful weight-loss effort. Listen to what these teammates have recently said about their accomplishments:
"When I started this program, I took my blood pressure at the grocery store. It was 130 something over 90 something. I had never had high blood pressure before. That fueled me at the start to really work at this. I took it again today, on the same machine...(and 3 months later) and it was 119 over 76. NORMAL. I'm beside myself with pride and happiness!" – AmyMOhio777
"Today I actually ran 1 mile without stopping! I can't believe it...I just wanted to scream in the gym! YEAH! I did it! I Rock!

Granted it was a very slow mile 5.4 ...but it was jogging and it was 1 mile!" – zippy5
"Last night, for the first time ever in my life, I was able to do real push ups (the military kind not the modified girlie kind)!!! I am so proud of that fact...it's like I won a million bucks or something!" – abundantlyme
"My milestones? The first time I could do a plank, even if I'm still working up to the full minute! Switching to 8-lb dumbbells this week, when I started out with 2s! I've lost 32 lbs so far, but it's sometimes hard to visualize, because I've got so much to lose, so picking one of those 8 pounders up, and realizing that I've gotten rid of the equivalent of four of them was very spiff! Also, being able to do lunges — side and front ones. These were very, very difficult for me at first, as I've got unresolved knee problems (no ACL in the right knee, for one), so stability was a real problem. I'm lunging up and down the length of my apartment like a fiend, now!" – Sue_On_the_Move
