Well, here is me. All week runing 2 3/4 miles. I probably should add in some weight training but I never liked it and I hate asking for help on the machines at the gym. But, I guess if I want continued success, I better suck it up and ask!.

Ok, my husband has been walking at the gym and riding the bike there too and not seeing a whole lot of results. He\'s almost been weight training. He saw a trainer and she gave him a good plan so he is going to start that. His problem too is his hip bothers him sometimes when he walks because of an accident he had years ago. So, last night at the gym, he went on the stair stepper and he said it made him sweat big time! He also did the Elliptical machine and he said that kicked his butt too. Now I red somewhere that that machine doesn\'t do much for a person but he said he felt a hard work out. Any one have any thoughts on the elliptical machine? Any success?

Many thoughts here WW, first of all, my mom swears by the elliptical machine. She loves it, says she\'s challenged, noted changes in her glutts and loves that machine. Most importantly, she loves it because it\'s easy on her knees so I think if Gilbert has that hip problem, the elliptical is great.
[b][i][size=4][color=#ff0000]Awesome job to you for upping it that .25. Didn\'t think I noticed did you?? I\'m keeping an eye on you!!! Awesome job. Some incentive for you to start that weight training ~ cardio DOES NOT CHANGE YOUR BODY while weight training does. I can so swear by this. I\'ve done some intense weight training in the past with minimal cardio (like 20 minutes cardio/40 minutes weight training and abs) and I went down a size I\'d never been and watched all the fat from the love handle area and lower body just melt away. It was awesome!! All in all, I lost 3 pounds in 6 weeks and I was enjoying my new look....then I made the decision to quit smoking, gained 13 pounds....and well, now here am I, with healthier lungs. Thanks Nikki! Well, you got me thinking more about it that\'s for sure. Maybe Gilbert can start me off at the gym with a few machines starting next week. Ok, I\'ll make that my new goal. I will add in weights for next week. I will get with him to help me with a plan and see. I might buy a fitness magazine and do some research. Plus, if I gain some muscle, it may be easier for me to hold up that Violet sign if we lose! ha!.

I am adding in weights next week for at least 3 days. I have to be easy on my knees and hips. Having 4 knee surgeries puts a damper on things and having arthritis isn\'t no fun either. But I am doing my best.

Ok, I just got back from the gym and I used the stair stepper for the first time. Now, this is the kind that looks like real steps. That thing was brutal! I started sweating within the first minute! I could stay on no longer than 5! So, if you have a gym membership and you have one these monsters there, use it! I\'m gonna put it in my workout and try and master it!

[b][i][size=4][color=#ff0000]I\'ve been on those a few times and you\'re right brutal. I just got back from hanging out by the pool. Nothing like that to help with my incentive this coming week. [IMG]http://7
