I know rationally*that it is going to take me a year or more to get to my weight goal. But ...there is always a*but ....I want to get*to my goal yesterday.* I know! I know! that will not happen and that is probably why I fail at dieting.*I get too impatient. *Help me here? Would you tell me how long have you all been on your journey to get to your weight goal .*

i Think That Is The Wrong Question To Ask.* You We Have All Had Troubles In The Past And Have Not Succeed.* I Have Been Trying For 3 Years And I Am Still In The Same Quest.* Just Do What You Need To Do And Don't Think About How Long It Will Take You.

Yeah...and like our buddy Dan always says--WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT??
Sometimes I think I wanna eat a bunch of yummy, bad for me food...but then I think hard, and what I really, REALLY want is to get this weight off and be healthy...and to look HOT HOT HOT...
And somethow I think that is going to taste (and feel!!) so much better than all the crap I could be eating along the way!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it, lol!!

You see Susan, the thing is, if you want to take the weight off and keep it off, you've got to break all those old habits and develop new ones.* Sure, you can crash diet and get the weight off.* But it will come as a double whammy.* First, weight lost too fast will be too easily regained.* And second, if you lose the weight that way, you are not developing good eating habits, therefore you will revert back to your old habits, which will cause you to gain the weight back.* The only way to lose the weight and keep it off is to change your lifestyle.

It's taken me 7-8 months to lose 50+ lbs.
There were a couple of ups & downs but for the most part it was just slow, steady progress.

I guess it all boils down to I am control* and only me.* Ultimately it is me who make the decision that will lead to* my goal.* I think I am getting it.

As of today, it has been 11 months and 65 lbs.* Like the others have said, i've done quick unhealthy weight loss in the past, but it came back because I didn't learn anything.* This time I LEARNED and although it has taken longer, it has been so much better AND now I know it will be permanent!
