I agree no such thing as a dumb goal, but there are a couple of secrets to achieving goals
1. Write them down (which you've done).* This makes them real and makes you accountable.* There's even books that suggest that you write them down on paper and the sign it, just like you would a contract.
2.* Make them very specific (which you've done again).* For example, "I want to lose 19 lbs by Jan 01" is better than "I want to be skinny".
3.* Make sure you also write down the benefit of each goal.* It's very important to know that you will get some benefit, perk, or prize for achieving a goal.* It can be as simple as "It will make me feel good", but this provides a constant reminder as to why you have the goal.
4.* Have a deadline for each goal.* It can be daily, weekly, monthly,....etc, but in general it's good to have a long-term life-purpose kind of goal (one that will take years to achieve) and then also have several shorter term goals that all build on top of each other.

Like Dan and Angie said, your goals are not lame.* You're very much on the right track.* We should all be so dedicated.
My main goal is to lose 35 lbs by New Years Day.* That's going to be a hard one to achieve, but I believe that if I can do that, I'll definitely be able to get the rest of the weight off.* And my secondary goal is to hopefully have less pain.* I'm sure losing weight will enable me to do things without the intense pain I have now.* The pain isn't weight related, but less weight might help.

First, your goals are NOT dumb OR lame!! They are real and attainable. That's so important!! Don't listen to negativity about yourself or your goals--you know what's important!! Keep up the great work!

Second, my goal is to lose 2 lbs per week. This week, I want to stay OP and keep working toward developing a firm schedule with my exercising, including adding additional body movement in. I also want to continue to increase my fruits and veggies.
