Default Re: "The Fat Burner Chicks - September Challenge"

Okay so here it is Thursday and I am already so ready for a three day weekend! So much to do!

My dinner for yesterday was not the best. It was a turkey sandwich on that evil hoagie roll! I went to the grocery store and the husband was going to be home late. He is the cook around the house, not me. So we had sandwiches! I did get in an hour at the gym and then another half hour gardening at the house. It has been so hot here and smoky.

Today: Sept. 3

B: Oatmeal (Weight Control, had a coupon) not bad has an after taste to it. But it will do.
Lunch: pasta with a tomato sauce; about two cups of pasta
Snacks: Wheat thins, and two tangerines.
I will probably have yogurt before I go to the gym.
D: dont know yet. Husband will be home to cook though.
Exercise:
Water: 50.7 oz. so far

You all seem to have the right goals and motivation; the same as my own. I really think this group will be alot of fun.

Charityn: Thanks again for the invite. You are a very positive person to hang out with and I look forward to getting to know you. Did you get your exercise in? Okay, so I just read your post. LIVER STEW! I had a hard enough time just reading the post. I am impressed though that your little one enjoyed it. Good for her. When my children were young I told them all meat was chicken so they would eat it. They didnt figure it out until they were about six or seven. But I got them to eat fish and other stuff. Now they try to make me feel guilty and tell me that was child abuse! Good for you but personally I couldnt eat liver. Have a great day!

Kate: Good thoughts on the job interview. I hope it is something that you are looking forward to.Congrats to Mike for his accomplishment. I would like to offer one little bit of advice (coming from this old woman); you should eat a couple of snacks between your meals so that your body doesnt feel deprived and you will be more satisfied.

Jeanie: Hello. Sounds to me like by checking out this team; by joining this team and putting yourself out there for us all to see; you have taken a big step in the right direction on your path to a healthier and happier you. That is a big deal so give yourself a pat on the back Dont let others dictate to you on how you are supposed to be. Just be yourself. Look at each day as a positive and not a negative. It is hard but doable. Have fun in your life! As for the coke; just cut back and in no time you will have it under control. You need to eat more food though; the right food and throughout the day. Your body will think it is starving and shut down if you only give it a cereal bar or a can of coke; make yourself a plan.

Stacey: I am with you! Water seems to be the worst thing for me. I keep it by my side at all times but still forget to drink. I do better when I am at the gym. You sound so busy with everything from teaching to family. You made me tired just reading what you do in an average day! I am thinking about calling you Super Chick!

Susie: Looks like we have something in common. When it is not too hot I have been riding my bike to work as well. I live in a small town in the valley so I go down the grade to work (5.6 miles) to our office which is right by the beach. Then I go back up hill to the house after work. I also consider that exercise as well! I havent done that lately because of the heat and there has been some problems with some homeless people setting up shelters near the trail. But maybe when it is cooler.

Probably wont be back tonight, so I'll post this now and update any changes tomorrow

Thank you all for your support. I'm realizing more and more how little I actually know about being healthy, but it isn't going to stop me! We're doing this together, right?

I woke up today and decided that I'd make a few drastic changes today. I haven't had a single coke all day. I have a little headache but nothing too bad. I wont be so hard on myself tomorrow, I just wanted to see if I could do it.

BF: Oat meal and a glass of milk
S: Cereal bar
L: A serving of mac 'n cheese and a large orange
S: A oat granola bar (1/2 serving)
D: A turkey sub on white (They didn't have wheat!!) and a fresh fruit salad
Water: So far over 32 oz! I don't think I've ever drank so much water
Extra Foods Eaten: None

I parked furthest from the building so I would walk further. Going to walk through a nature park after dinner.

Oh!! Today a co-worker pulled me aside and said "I don't mean to offend you, you look like you lost weight, you look good." I know its a physical impossibility, but that was an awesome ego boost! A simple change in attitude and I already look better!

Edit: It started raining JUST as I got off of work no walk but I'm going to figure out something to do around the house.

Good evening all! I hope everyone had a wonderful day.

I had a pretty good day today. I had a lot of water-yay!!! I ate well and exercised...and helped prepare my fiance's house to be sided this weekend. Whoot.

My food intake is as followed:
(Used all my points today for Weight Watchers!)
Breakfast:
English Muffin with Grape Jelly-Yum!
Banana
Water

Lunch:
Same as yesterday-
Bocca Chicken burger-Vegan
Corn
& Pudding for my chocolate fix

Dinner:
Grilled Chicken Breast
Mashed Potatoes
Biscuit
Was my fiance's treat tonight. However, he ended up eating most of mine. :P

I did have a snack today! I agree with you, Priscilla...I do need a snack otherwise my body goes crazy. Lately, I haven't been all that hungry. Got really bad allergies here lately, so haven't quite been myself. I had a banana and yet again...pudding. It's light and for Weight Watchers it counts as a milk. And I am allergic to milk so I have pills, so I'm all ok

I did 30 minutes of my DVD video today!!! Worked up a sweat and didn't hold back. I have been taking up jogging with my fiance, but haven't gone here lately. Wish I can pick it up again here real soon. This weekend, I will have plenty of exercise b/c my fiance's Dad is re-siding the house.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day, and I will only be weighing in to Buddy Slim on Tuesdays-hence my scale is majorly off. >.< (Tuesdays is Weight Watcher days for me!)

Well I'm off. I hope everyone has a wonderful night and have a great day and WE CAN DO THIS!

Oh, I forgot I am planning to do level 3 of the Jillian Michaels 30 day for September. I did it yesterday and today....boy, I am sore! I want to add a little cardio workout in the evening.
Report for 9/3
I am a creature of habit and my meals at school are the same!
BF: Fruit Salad (fresh pineapple, strawberries, kiwi, and raspberries)
S: 1/2 grapefruit with 1 1/2 tsp sugar
L: Peanut butter and sugar free strawberry jelly sandwich on low
calorie bread, raw Orange pepper cut up, grapes
S: banana
D: Baked chicken, spinach, feta, stewed tomato wrap
S: Protein Shake (after work out)

Again no water to speak of!

Charityn: Love the negative calorie diet. I am going to try to eat larger portions of the veggies with my dinner and less carbs. You are doing great! An infant is soooo time consuming, not just because you need to attend to their every need but because they are such a gift and as a mother you just want to spend all your time with them! You will get your MD...I can tell you are determined!!! I think once in a while you need to indulge in your favorite foods and I am sure you enjoyed your liver stew! We need to have a treat once in a while...we deserve it! Think of it as you rewarded yourself for all your hard work!

Suzie: Wow, you bike to work everyday...You go Girl! I think biking is such great exercise. I was biking in the spring 3 miles 3 to 4 times a week. You have motivated me to get my bike back out for a ride a couple times a week! I forgot how much weight I lost when I was biking. Congrats on losing a pound!!

Kate: I hope you are feeling better...you sound like a trooper! Let us know about the Job. I know that being gainfully employed is a good feeling and helps with overall self worth and confidence. Awesome Job with the weight watchers...keep it up! I know exactly how you feel. I never lost my pregnancy weight and it was hideous...I didn't feel good in my own skin. I know that we can shed this weight and feel svelte and sexy! Lol!

Jeanie: You can do it! Slow changes...Start by driving by fast food hamburger joints and stop at subway for a 6 in low calorie sandwich. Don't beat yourself up over set backs. When I have a set back, I always analyze why did I eat that bowl of ice cream instead of grapes, sometimes I was upset about something, bored, etc. This helps me make conscious decisions in the future. Whatever you need for support...let me know!

Pricilla: you are doing wonderful...you are so disciplined with your meals. You sound like a busy lady working at a law firm and taking care of abandoned/abused horses. So did you feel like you accomplished something the other night? Isn't it a great feeling! Did you know that gardening is considered exercise! I try to do squats while I weed or garden! Keep up the great work!

Tiffany: Hey Great Job cutting down to one can of soda a day! I am always taking a sip of my husband's diet pepsi! Baby Steps! Chocolate...a woman's love and nightmare. Do you like Dark chocolate because I think it has less calories than milk chocolate. I like sugar free chocolate pudding cups for a treat, they have about 60 calories and can satisfy that choco craving! You can do this!

Well ladies it is late once again...I need to get some beauty rest. Have a great night and wonderful dreams!

ok so i am not doing such great work on diet, but i have gone for 1/2hr walks for the last 2 days.

About me:
27 engaged with 2 kids (6 and 2). at home mom but always busy. I still don't understand how I can gain so much weight when I'm on my feet constantly! Love to write, crochet, basically being creative.
Motivation: My grandpa just had weight loss surgery and I thought to myself I don't want to do that. I want to be active with my kids and be able to do things with out feeling ashamed of what I look like whe I am out with them. My self esteem has been highly affected by gaining all this weight.
My goal: come up with a strategy that works for me. I can't afford an expensive diet plan so I need to work with my budget and do the best that I can. Become more active.

for the last 2 days I have done an 1/2hr walk which has been a nice change.
thank you for getting me in here, seems like everyone is so supportive!

Hey girls

It's so late and I still have to read 10 more pages of endocrine but well, I have to be honest and say that I have been so concentrated on my studies that I didn't fit my workout today either and I say to myself... "Come on!!! You want this, so... Gotta Do What you've Gotta Do" ... I really need to follow my daily schedule or I wont be able to do everything I need to do. Thank you Girls for all your support.

I know it takes sometime to read everybody's report but please try to support each other because as much as you need this support, we need it too, reciprocal caring is the best in a Weight Loss support Group.

Priscilla, I am sorry about the Liver vent I know here nobody eats those things but from where I come it is very normal, ok I don't eat worms if you wonder but natives in the jungle do I don't want to gross out anybody sorry but if you lost your apetite, maybe is not so bad The story about your kids is so funny and about your meals, they look delicious, actually when I joined Jenny Craig I was eating everything, but in controlled portions, I was so stuffed most of the time, so we can still enjoy good food if we control our portions.

There is even a diet based on mc donalds meals but you know that to have a clean and pretty skin we should pick the healthy stuff but if your goal is only to lose weight, just controlling your calories can do it.

Jeanie, that was so nice, I know that just by changing small things you are already feeling better about yourself, even the way we walk changes, it's like feeling clean inside out, cause we know we are doing this for ourselves. Keep up the good work sweetie.

Sally, you are in and actually you are the 10th member, we close this group with you.

Melisa, where are you? I haven't seen any post from you

Kate, excellent job Did you pick your dress already?

Stacy, great job sweetie and I also love the List of Negative Calorie Food, let's keep that in mind, there are so many things we can eat without gaining a pound, just the opossite Thanks for all your words sweetie I really appreciate it

Christina, you are already working hard, doing house chores it's not the same as working all your body or isolated muscle groups that need more work like our tummy for example. Being a mom is the hardest work, I learned that but it's also so nice to take care of your treasures in every aspect. Chris, you will succeed on this, let's do this together, you don't need extra money. I am sure you got some home dvd workout? walking is great but sometimes adding some variety is great

Ok Girls, I feel bad that I haven't done my workout today but as my name is chari I promise to get it done tomorrow and 1h workout, wanna do something fun, maybe zumba ?

Good night Bonitas and remember:

Hello everyone!
I had another good day, although the work canteen doesn’t offer much choice in terms of healthy food, (salad or jacket potato-everything else is fried), so ended up eating the same as yesterday, I will try and mix it up tomorrow, I plan to take in a microwavable soup. Also, found a new snack – caramel rice cakes, quite substantial at only 50 cals!

Today’s report:
BF: Mixed fruit salad, water
Lunch: Jacket potato with baked beans, cereal bar, coke zero
Dinner: Ham salad, water
Snack: Snack-a-jack caramel (fantastic, only 50 calories per rice cake!), hot chocolate (40cals)
Exercise: 6 mile bike ride (to work and back)
Water: 1litre, not so good today.

Love the negative calorie diet Charytin, will definitely be eating more fruit and veg, the only problem is that my husband won’t eat ANY fruit or veg except carrots, so I can’t get through it on my own before it goes off, hence me eating salad for tea two days in a row!! That’s how I gained the weight in the first place, because my hubby eats so unhealthily and I just joined him in the end!

Prescilla, I agree about snacking between meals, last time I dieted I deprived myself, but I’m finding it easier to stick this time, (now I am snacking), and also, I eat smaller portions for my main meals, which is brilliant!

Kate, when is the big day? I’ve just been married, and know how much time planning a wedding takes! How far have you gotten with it?

Jeanie, you say someone noticed you had lost weight? It’s a brilliant feeling when someone tells you you’re looking slimmer, isn’t it? Are you on the short side, because I find I lose a dress size for every stone (14lbs) I drop and I’m 5’4’’. Well done on sticking to the diet, it does get easier after the first few days!

Good to hear I’ve inspired you to get bike riding, Stacy! I love biking to work, except it is starting to turn chilly and I hate biking in the ice and wind at
5am..

Well guys, I have to admit, I’ve had a rough time sticking to the diet today, I’ve felt so tempted to eat the wrong things, I think I am getting bored and need some new recipes to try, any ideas would be appreciated! Hope my motivation isn’t slipping!
