I would be interested in joining but would have to wait until after about Sept.* to do it.* I live in AZ and it is just too hot this time of year.* It is still about 90 degrees here at bed time, and only gets down to about 80 degrees, and that is at 3am.* I can't get up at 3am to run...I actually tried and I was just too sleepy...LOL!* So, for now I have to use the eliptical in my AC'd house.* But if you guys are still doing it in the fall, I would love to join you!

I am not a new runner...actually I am an experienced runner but three years ago I went into a depressive state and gave up the sport I love so much.*
I am currently training for marathon # 4, which will take place in Chicago on October 22.* I can tell you that running is wonderful and anyone can do it!* You have to be patient.*
ANYHOW, I wanted to put my two cents in because there's a website I absolutely love...you will get the best running advice ever....it's for all running levels....
RUNNER'S WORLD MAGAZINE
If you would be interested in visiting my website, I invite you to take a look!
2006 La Salle Bank Chicago Marathon | A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
I have photos posted under Chicago2000 on my site!*
Happy running guys!* And feel free to ask me any questions you'd like, I'm no expert, but I will try to get the right answers for you!

So cool.* I am thrilled that so many people are interested in becomming runners!* I was thinking that we could start mileage logs and maybe buddy up on specific programs for support.* Bummer that we don't all live in the same area, huh?* We could start a proper running group that way.*
I was *once* a pretty avid jogger, but I got lazy.* lol* Currently I am just heading to the track and running as many laps as I can handle, averaging about 3 miles.* I would like to start a running program though. I found this website with lots of programs, just scroll down and you will see them.*
Hal Higdon
The sites mentioned in an earlier post look awesome too!*
Maybe some of us live near eachother?* Who knows.* That would be cool, we could maybe buddy up in real life?* I live in Fort Lewis, WA, just outside of Tacoma.

I am interested.* I picked up jogging a few years back.* But since I have gained some of my weight back I haven't been jogging.* I would like to start up again.* You have a schedule to follow?* When I first started my weight loss journey I couldn't even jog 20 seconds.* After patience and building up my endurance I am able to run a 5k but would like to build up more endurance.* I am a slow jogger because I have asthma.* I do notice a difference in the way my clothes fit when I jog on a consistent basis, SO, yes..I would like to start up again.

I'd love to be in a running group.* Those links were great!* I'm going to start the novice spring training program to get myself started.* For anyone living in Manhattan, I'm open to running in Central Park, or along the West Side Highway.

Hi Kids!
So, I thought I would post my miles for last week.* I ran Mon - 2 miles, Wed - 2 miles and Fri - 2.25 miles, a total of 6.25 miles.
I am going to officially begin the following program this week:
10-K Training: Novice
Is there anyone that would like to buddy up with me on this program?* It would be pretty helpful to have someone to compare notes with!* lol
There are lots of programs on the Hal Higdon site for novice, intermediate and advanced.* Be sure to check it out.* If you see one you like and want to start it, let us know and we can cheer you on.* I know that I am going to need some encouragement.
So, get out there if you can and walk/run this week.* Post your distance and or times and let's make this week an awesome one!
Mandy
Oh, I also wanted to post another site for everyone.
The Road Runners Club of America.* If you are interested in joining a running group in your area, you might consider browsing this site.* They cater to beginning walkers on up to those awesome marathonites!*
Road Running - Road Runners Club of America - RRCA Home Page
Have a great week everyone.
Mandy

I'd love to join you, Mandy, but I think I'm going to have to wait to start the running regimen until Aug b/c I'm leaving for vacation 7/19 and won't get back until the 31st.* I'll keep a watch for how it is going for you and will definitely let you know what I decide to do and when!* Sounds like you're already on your way!
