Morning girls...finally had a good night's sleep last night. Was supposed to get up for the gym at 4:45...didn't even hit the snooze, just turned the alarm off Will go tonight, since dh says his back isn't up to snuff yet.
Food has not been good, lots of stupid stress eating. I'm acting out, and it's not good. I need to kick myself in the butt and get over it. I'm annoyed at the whole job situation. Got a newsletter from ds school yesterday when I stopped by for some PTO stuff. The new uniform policy is, just as we predicted, poorly thought out and will not be executed well at all. Just like everything else, there will be lack of enforcement and follow up...no consequences listed for not following policy. Kills me that they had a dress code that they didn't enforce, so instead of changing their strategy, they implement a uniform policy that they will not enforce. Did anyone else have to wear ill fitting dorky clothes when they violated the dress code? Worked for me. It used to kill me to have to wear that stuff, so I never violated the code. Oh well, rant over.

More work today. Dev has art camp all week from 12-3 so I will work at the library where I can get wi-fi...since it's just down the road from the art studio. He's really loving his art camps this year. Bummed that he's not doing anything physical for camps though. But he's found a book series he LOVES...it's called Warriors. About clans of wild cats. He's been reading for sometimes 4 hours a day. Not much electronics going on right now, which is wonderful. We will be doing Tae Bo for kids together this morning though

Barb-careful in Chy's room...will ya need a helmet? Welcome to the desert, eh. The land where a paperclip left on your carseat becomes a lethal weapon. It's killing me not to get to the pool this week because of all my work and Dev's camp. I'm heading out on Wed night with a friend for cocktails (late b'day celebration for me, lol) to Goron Biersch in Tempe. They have the BEST garlic fries. I head George Michael was awesome, glad you had a good time! Are you making plans for the 4th? I heard the zoo has a small amount of tickets available for their viewing. They let 275 people in and do burgers/dogs and activities and then you watch the fireworks from a viewing area. I've never done it....we're not usually here. Sounds cool though.

Xan-the surprise is always a good bribe...have fun at the grocery store.

Terry-put some cooled off tea bags on those feet...the tannins in tea are really good for sunburn.

Ok, I gotta run, but I just wanted to say I rarely make movies recommendations...but we went to see Get Smart this weekend. I laughed out loud the entire time. I've developed quite a little crush on Steve Carrell, and the Rock is funny as heck in it. Who knew he had comedic talent. It was really funny. They did a good job updating the story lines while staying true to the original series.

Checking in from work...boy it has been an exhausting day here but I have gotten a lot accomplished..need to leave @ 3:30 for an appnt. We have feds coming in end of July so I am trying to whip my files in tip top shape..UGGG!!!

DD is having some issues with "I am too fat" "I weigh to much" "I have thunder thighs"..I am trying to be very careful how I handle it because I don't want to throw her into any type of whirlwind..she is 5'3" and weighs 106...she wears a freaking 1 for goodness sake but that to her doesn't mean anything. When I took her last week for her cheering physical, I asked the nurse to talk to her and she did and I hoped it had helped her but I noticed Sunday at the beach she was pulling at her bikini bottoms like she was trying to cover herself up and covering her thighs in the chair with a towel...nothing that other people would notice but I guess I did since I know she is having these issues...any advise??? I know she is at the age where you have to be careful that they don't go off the deep end over weight. Oh and I know it isn't the b/f (the thought had crossed my mind) because he said something to me over the weekend about she sure was worrying about her weight a lot and she didn't hardly eat anything when he was around her and it had him concerned.

Sue..we had uniforms at the middle school when DS was in the 6th-8th--it was stupid..lots of money spent for nothing...I really liked the fact that he did not have a lot to choose from to wear to school but issues came up about kids not have the money to afford the uniforms so they dropped it completely.

Okay..question..what is gas prices doing in your area??? I am paying $3.83 right now for regular unleaded.

taking a break from the work for a second.
the weekend was such a scorcher-it was in the 100's saturday and
sunday. so un-san diego-ish. my mom had a bday party for my aunt at
her house and i was miserable! it was hard to put on a happy face that
is for sure.
did pretty good with food all weekend, not perfectly stellar but pretty
good considering the circumstances.
did great yesterday and so far so good today-now if i can just get my butt out of bed to exercise. there just never seems to be enough time in the day for everything-i need to figure out a way to make me a priority!

back to the grind! love to all!

hey kids! just checking in, starting to do laundry and then don my helmet (thanks for the reminder sue) chy and my mom have gotten there and went to see the old houses, my moms house is now painted a lovely orange color and has some sorrt of virgin mary statue in front! lol my mom almost crashed! my house looks the same thank goodness. sue~is that brewery at the tempe market place? cool! i put my sunshade up yesterday and nearly burned my fingers. george was wonderful, we were going to see opening night of high school musical tonight at gammage but going to conserve on gas since we go see the circus thursday, gotta watch those gas prices. we are doing the biltmore for the 4th, my bil is doing somthing there for the weekend! zoo will be hot! terry~we need to talk about the weight thing, chy has the same issues with her thighs although they are big she doesnt seem to work out, they dont magically disappear, but cant tell her that! ok will check in later doing this post from my blackkjack

survived work was busy for a change. Tried to do some floor exercises, but the cat did some major interference, the worst she'd ever been. swatting, licking even biting. yipes!!!
