lori-i have another woe to ask you about

hubby just put advantix on the dogs 2 days ago. one seems to be having
a funky reaction to it. he has cut back on the excessive scratching that was going on the night of the application-but
now he has a pretty irritated spot on his back where it was applied. i googled
it and of course read nightmare stories about dogs dying etc. so i closed that
up immediately.
should i take him in to see our vet? or is there anything topical that can soothe that area?
i feel like a bad dog mom i keep telling him i'm sorry.

since my favorite vet has not been around i am worried about her.

i hope lori is just busy too...she lives a busy life!

it's really weird barb, he is better but he has a bump from scratching so much in that zone, i feel terrible. he was pretty mellow yesterday morning-he is our little fireball normally. hubby gave him a bath last night and put a little cortisone on it-hopefully he will back to normal in no time. i tossed out the advantix. back to frontline is what i am telling dr. beautiful, i mean dr.bigelow dr.bigelow is one hot vet....sizzle!!

Anna - I'm sorry honey! I am in Tampa. Dad is in the hospital and scheduled for heart surgery tomorrow morning....

How's your baby? Have you tried some topical hydrocortisone (1%). That may help. He may have scratched so much he got a little secondary infection...you might need some abx from the vet. I will try and check in later.

Anna, how is your pooch today? Trixie's ears were so red on Saturday night that when I went to put her under the blanket with me I must have touched one and she bit me in the face! YIPES! Good thing she didn't get my eyeball!
