good morning ladies. I am enjoying the first morning in my house where I am not unpacking....etc... My dad and stepmom came up from Yuma for dinner last night. We had a good time......and everyone agrees that the kitchen is their favorite part of this house. My old house had a little galley kitchen where it was even kind of uncomfortable for 2 people to work in at the same time. This on is huge! Everyone in the house hung out in the there while we were getting dinner together. It was awesome.

Jen....I am so excited that you decided to dump that nasty job. You should not hate your job everyday. I mean everyone dislikes their job once in a while....but you should not dread it all of the time. That definitely means that it is time to get out.

We went to WW yesterday. I did not weigh at the meeting, but at home...I was only about .5 about my goal range with all of the stress of the past couple weeks and TOM starting about 5 minutes before we left yesterday....I think that was pretty good. Hubby was only up .8 We are looking forward to getting back on our routine. We have already started with eating.....now I just need to add the exercise back in.

okay....I need to head out and get in the shower. We are off to IKEA today to find some little things for the house. Then we are having some friends over tonight for BBQ.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Lorena

Wow, the beauty of this big boy bed thing is that he gets up on his own and plays and lets me sleep in. Yikes. It was 8:50 before I knew it.
Plumbing is done...need to do some drywall repair and more painting...grr.
Took ds to see Horton Hears a Who last night, we all loved it. Jim Carrey makes a great Horton. A person is a person, no matter how small.
I think my new motto is " all I really need to know about life I learned from Dr. Seuss"

Lorena-glad to hear you're unpacked. You're amazing. I'm still not unpacked completely. Although at least I have plumbing I can count on now, lol.

Jen-I think it's awesome that Kevin is being so supportive. Good job on picking the new mate, lol.

Lizzy-hope you feel better honey. Spring will be here soon all this sickness will be gone.

Terry-you too, take it easy. There has been a wierd stomach virus like that going around here as well.

Cheryl-Bikeathon sounds cool. We do a jogathon at ds' school and I'm in charge again this year. I guess it's good it's not a bikeathon, cause I get awfully cranky when I can't get on my bike and ride, lol.

Alrighty kids...need to plan my meals for the week, get to the grocery store, and start making some drywall repairs, lol. Also need to throw down my first bleach solution in the moldy bathroom. I'm so happy to be treating this finally. Oh my, dh has been up for 10 minutes and he's already lecturing ds about something. Yea! Gonna be a fun day at the homestead.

Peace out,
Sue

Lorena and Lori....so you don't have to read through everything, they laid me off on Friday! How cool was that!
And actually we were talking......we are going to see how it goes $$ wise with my not working. If we can swing it, then I will stay home or just work part time until Garrett is old enough to come home after school on his own. BUT I am going to collect away on the unemployment and take a class or two that they offer.

My sauce smells soooo good already. I am letting that baby simmer all day.

Kevin just went to get the kids and I am going to go and crochet for a bit.

Hello everyone...

...I'll join the list of people who slept like crap lastnight!! Ever since the time change last week I just haven't slept properly!

Dragged my and DD's butts to church this morning, and I'm glad I did. We've been going to this church (kind of on and off) since last fall, and I was starting to wonder where they stood on some major things and today some of that was cleared up in the sermon, so I'm glad I was there. Plus DD loves the music and playing in the nursery.

So now it's just reeeeeeelaxing for the rest of the day....ahhhhhh. Going to get some knitting in, some playtime with DD, I think DH is making pizza for supper so I don't even have to cook! woo hoo!

Oh hey - the other day DD brought me an old afghan book I had stuffed in the bookcase, in her toddler explorations, and I leafed through it and found the perfect afghan to make to go on her big girl bed (when she gets it), and also one to make for a friend of mine who's pregnant, kind of an "all the family" gift for her I had in mind. Mind you, this is the friend I've been having trouble with the last few days and right now, investing all that time and money in an afghan for her is not really high on my list. She's been a bit of a wingnut since she's been pregnant. I shouldn't talk like that after going to church!! LOL

So, I'll catch you ladies later!

Jen ~ That's great news that you can stay home for a while. It's probably just the thing that you need right now.

Lizzy ~ Have a good day! Don't push yourself too much!

Terry ~ Hi! hehe...

Sue ~ Thanks for the review of the Who movie!

Back from the b/day party which was the party that would never end ...I really depise those kind but I felt I had to go or be in the doghouse with a dear friend of ours whose is truly going through a rough time right now and this is "his" little boy who is only here every other weekend. So I did my friend duty and I swear the little kid was so darn excited that he had a crowd for his special day..gotta love kids like that..went around hugging and loving on everybody and thanking everybody for the gifts--not one of these spoiled brat kids that you wish you had not spent a dime on..LOL!!! The dad just had a little trouble getting it all pulled together and going in a timely manner but we moms were patient and pitched in where we could. I did good eating there..they had grilled burgers, etc so was able to work with that .

Got some walking done with DD earlier...we did some leisurely walking around but hoping to get a better walk in after it cools off...we are scorching outside today..need to cut the a/c on but trying to get by another hour or 2 until the sun goes behind the trees . I just hope it cools off some by nightfall or it will make for a miserable night sleeping.

Sue...so your DH gives the speeches, etc...I thought I was the only one that had one of those??? My kids will actually call or text me if they are coming in from somewhere to check the mood situation out before they hit the driveway. It is a good dad but just expects way to much sometimes..or most of the time!!!

Jen..so I guess I am going to go to work tommorrow morning and you aren't..now how is that fair?????? You better still log in on email

Lizzy...DD had 2 sales today on ebay..3 that didn't though..added some more stuff this morning.

Lorena..enjoy your new kitchen...when we built, I was in love with our kitchen moving from a single-wide trailer but soon found out I could fill all those extra cabinets right up..

Lori..hey girlie!!! Had a man checking DD out at the horse show yesterday..he is into racing..said we should let her try it..I was like WTH??? DH was eating it up..wanted to talk with him later and see if we can bring her down and let her run one of his horses one afternoon for kicks to see what she can do..

Sarah..Hey back!!! LOL!!!!

Alrighty..gotta run get some more clothes washed..the pile seems to be getting higher instead of lower

Hehe, Terry, I'm totally with ya on the expectations thing. You've given me a little glimpse of what's to come for me and ds...I can totally see us having that type of relationship...texting to check the mood.
It kills me, because I have an exceptionally well behaved kid, and you'd never know it to listen to dh and his lectures. Of course he would claim that the reason Dev is so good is because he calls him on stuff and I'm too lenient...bottom line is I can see the point at which Dev tunes him out and he is retaining nothing of what ds says, except probably the s**t that's going to do a number on his self esteem. From day one, he has never understood what a 1, 2, 3, 4 yr old...is capable of and has always expected things that are near impossible.

You can have some of our weather today...we dropped from high 70's/low 80's to mid 50's in the past 24 hours. It's actually kind of nice Especially since I know we'll be scorching in no time at all.

Alrighty...I'm armed with a fridge and pantry full of healthy food, a menu plan for the next week, an exercise plan for the next 2 months (lol) and I'm ready to tackle the problems. Of course before that I have to go out and buy a bratz doll for a birthday party we are going to tomorrow night...I think that will be more painful than anything I have to do this week. So not a bratz girl, lol.

Have a great night ladies!
Peace,
Sue

hey guys,

Productive day around here. I cleaned, and I mean heavy cleaned, for 4 hours! I scrubbed floors, bathtubs, toilets, you name it...I scrubbed it. Looks so good. Now of course it won't last until I leave again on Thursday, but for now...ahhhhhh.

Jen - well I guess congrats are in order huh? That will be great for you! I hope it works out with the $$. You are one busy lady..it would be nice if you could stay at home until Garrett is older and focus on being a busy mom.

Took a nice walk with the furbabies. Eddie caught a squirrel today...oh brother. The squirrel got a nice bit on him too though. I told him it served him right. Nothing a little topical antibiotic won't cure (hopefully). Jim keeps reminding me this is life in the country.

Need to go make something healthy for dinner. I haven't hopped back on the scale since my voyage this last week, but I feel heavier. Sigh.... It warmed up today though. We had snow this morning and this afternoon it's in the low 50's with the sun shining. No complaints about that.

Have a nice evening guys!

Lori

OMG Sue...our DHs must be have been brothers in another life...my poor kids have been doing chores (I mean REAL chores) since they were 4 years old. We need to get on email!!!!!

Sad, sad story..nearby town (13 miles) got hit really, really hard last night..we knew it last night but until daylight of course nobody knew the damage...the pictures we are getting from friends on cell phones, emails, etc..geez girls..it literally looks like a freaking bomb went off on main street..this is a small rural railroad depot town...just so sad to see what once was is now just bricks and rubble. Of course, they can rebuild and thank God nobody was killed but main street was the same main street from 75-100 years ago..it was just a cutesy old town!!!
