Morning all,
Never got back here yesterday. Got busy with work in the afternoon and then went to dinner with some friends last night. An old staff member is leaving my old clinic and moving on (as is everyone else of value that used to work there) and we had a little going away party for her at our old mexican haunt. I was good...split an entree with someone (chicken fajita quesadilla), had some chips and salsa but counted out 15, and had a margarita but only drank half. Still dipped into my flexies, but not bad and I didn't feel deprived.
Which makes me remember I wanted to comment to Terry about SB diet. I tried SB and lost some weight on it but gained it back when i started adding the carbs back in. I've done it 2 different times. The first time, 2nd week into phase one I completely freaked and made a pan of brownies and ate the whole thing

. Second time I did better but regained. I never found that happy place where you don't miss carbs anymore. That said, my dad's endocrinologist put him on it when he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes earlier in the year and he has done beautifully on it. Lost 17 lbs and he really doesn't miss the carbs. He's very careful with his diet. I think it just proves you have to find what's right for YOU. Any plan works if you continue to work the plan as a life style change, but when we think of it as a diet (which comes and goes), it stops working the minute you quit. So, I would say, read up and give it a go and see if it works for you. It's much safer than Atkins which might as well be called the gallstone forming diet

I think I've found for me that the reason WW works (again...when I work the program) is because even though I HATE counting points, it forces me to read labels, and actually evaluate the amount I'm putting into my mouth...makes me more conscious ya know? I also don't feel deprived on it b/c I can make allowances like last night. When someone tells me I can't have something i.e. carbs, ...it's all I want LOL.
Ok kiddos, I need to hit the road. Everyone have a fantastic day!
