Default Topic of the week Feb 17th

Here is a phrase that has been coming to my mind often lately..........

If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got.

Know why this came to mind? 2 weeks ago at my meeting, one of the girls that I used to work with down in Pittsburgh was there joining up. The last time I saw her, I was still working for WW. We were talking and she said to me that she still has a little sign that I had given her with that phrase on it.

That saying can take on sooooo many different meanings. It's a personal issue. Just like losing weight. BUT if we do everything the same way we did it before WW, we are not going to lose weight....plain and simple.

If I eat the same foods, I will get weight gain.
If I do not journal, I will eat more than I need to.
If I do not exercise, I will not be in shape and even worse, my mood just plain sucks.

So this time around, what have I changed?

I am looking into the cookbooks that I have for healthier options. Kevin and I have dicussed it and if it means my making a seperate meal from the others in the house, then so be it. I need to do that for myself.

I have to journal and sometimes I suck at it, but I plug away at it. Plus when I feel myself faultering at it, I jump onto the what are you eating thread here.

Exercise is just plain hard for me. With all the running I do with the kids, the best intent and plans fall through. I can not beat myself up over it if I miss a day. It does not define the entire plan of my work.

Jen,

You may be getting tired of hearing this, but THANK you for starting and continuing this weekly thread. It means so much to me. I have logged your quote into every day of my planner this week and also have it taped to the fridge. I am getting ready to plan out the menu for this week and then go fight the wind and rain and go to the grocery store.

Thank you Friend!!!! (((((HUGS)))))

It's true though!!!!
I think we all get complacent with our program....."I know what I ate I don't have to journal it", "I'll use flex points for that" and then not journal any of it.
We alllllllllllll fool ourselves and do things that are right back to what got us all into the bigger pants.

I am glad that you guys like the topics that I have brought up for the past 2 weeks. xoxoxoxxo

Ok, this is going in big bold letters onto my fridge, my cabinets, and in my wallet! It's so true, Jen. It's a great topic for the week. I am going to go walk right now because I was thinking about not doing it and checked this thread out instead. Your inspiration continues, jeez your like Yoda! LOL
Ever think you'll be a leader again in a "live" meeting? I think many, many unmotivated and overweight people in PA really need you. Thanks my friend!

Ya know...one of the things I took away from the old board was a quote that CJ posted once. It's a long one, but I keep it taped to my computer:

Willing to work

What are you willing to work for? It's a simple question, yet an important one. There are lots of things you might wish for, but wishing doesn't take much effort, and consequently it won't produce results. There are things you may plan for, and yet planing alone will not bring them about.

What matters is what you are willing to work for. What you achieve depends on what you are willing to work for. The person you become is based on what you are willing to work for. The quality of your life is directly related to what you are willing to work for...not what you need, not what you want, not what you think you are entitled to, but what you are willing to work for.

There are things that you won't be willing to work for. That's OK. There's no need to feel guilty about not being willing to work for them. Just don't expect to have them. Forget about those things and focus your energy on what you are willing to work for.

There are goals and aspirations that will drive you. There are things that you will gladly be willing to work for. Find them, follow them work towards them and make them happen.

Ralph Marston

Along the same lines I guess. If you do what you've always done, you get what you always got, and you only get what you're willing to work for.

Sue
