Default Happy new yr,Jan 1st 2008

Hello everyone,
quiet night last night. managed to make it to midnight. Gave Athena a kiss and a hug and promptly went to bed one min later. Finished one afghan and started a new one. Also my tradition is to watch a 3 stooges marathon, gets it out of my system for the rest of the yr Glad I got to see a couple min of the fireworks. (they revamped the sched and scaled a lot of stuff back this yr.
Athena kept getting into mischief last night but did manage to get back to sleep. Working later on today @ macy's. going to dig into some pumpkin pancakes in a moment. looking @ a boca burger for lunch and glop for the week for dinner( something went wrong and it doesnt taste as good as it usually does. going to get a walk in too before the storm hits.

Hope everyone had a wonderful night last night.

take care everyone, looking forward to this upcoming challenge
Happy new year everyone!!!

Lizzy

Morning guys....I'm Ready for the Challenge!!!!!!! It's the first day of a new year, a fresh start....

Alex and I stayed up late and watched Balls of Fury (pretty dumb, but she enjoyed it) and then The Marsh (had never heard of it, it was scary and pretty good). Went to bed about 1 or so.

OMG, the bath fiasco, I almost forgot about it...lol...must be trying to block it out...actually it went better than could be hoped for. All three cats looked hysterical, cats don't dry off as quickly as dogs do...FYI....they are like walking sponges...lol...they think they are home free....HA! we have to do this twice a week...holy crap! I didn't get bit, I didn't get hissed at, and I didn't get scratched...what I did get was just as wet as them, lol.

Ok, so got a nice pork roast to do in the crock pot today, some sauerkraut...and I think I may make some potato soup with my new Cuisinart. Mike is supposed to come home today, but it is blowing a gale at the moment, so not sure what the ferries are doing. KIDS GO BACK TO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!! WHOOHOOOOOOOO......i'm bad....

Ok, off to get some more coffee and throw some laundry in.

Morning Lizzy!!!!! Happy New Year Sweetie!

Good Morning and Happy New Year!
Yep.....New year, new start. No screwing around.

Nikki and I have that same menu planned....pork and sauerkraut. I'm not going to crockpot mine though...oven for me today. With Green beans and mashed potatoes on the side. My parents are suppposed to come over for dinner later too depending on the weather. We are supposed to get 1-3 today, but right in between us is a stretch that is a weather band that usually gets more than called for and that road is horrendous in the snow.

Me, Jess and Garrett watched the ball drop then they went out to annoy everyone with pots and pans. I can't remember if I told you guys what the town does, but a few after midnight they get all the firetrucks, ambulance and police cars and drive up and down every single street in town to wave hello to everyone. And everyone stands outside waiting for this then goes in. I guess it's a nice way to get you outside to say happy new year to your neighbors....which we did.

Lizzy- I started the trapezoids! LOL This thing is going to take forever. I hope you enjoy your day.

Nikki- So you were alone last night too? Was Mike watching Wally? LOL Kevin was going to go to that, but he had to be at the plant at 6 this morning.

I do not think exercise is going to be in the cards for me today, but the eating will be good. I have so much cleaning to do before my parents get here.

BBL

Jen

Happy New Year buddies! I am back.....today's menu is fiber bar for breakfast, Smart One's for lunch, Soup for dinner, fruit, popcorn, and a Blue bunny for snacks. It is cold outside so I don't think I'll be walking outside and the gym is only open for a short time so I will probably do a walking DVD inside.

Managed to stay up until just after midnight... my neighbor had a very small get together.. I managed to only have one glass of wine and a few snacks. We spent most of the evening freezing our a--'s off in the backyard trying to light her new fire pit... never happened....while looking for branches we all freaked out thinking there was a baby alligator in the backyard..it was hysterical, we were all screaming and carrying on... turned out to be a plastic toy...

So buddies, I've missed you all and am back with a vengeance! We can do it!

Well my parents are now not coming over.....the weather is so iffy right now.
I just took a good look in the living room and it really looks like a tornado went through it. I need to get cracking in there desperately.

Yes it is a cute tradition the town has, but still......not used to that stuff. On Memorial day they actually have a service that is broadcast over the PA system in town and ask that everyone turn off their lights and listen. NOT USED TO IT!

Allison- Glad you will be here full force. We always seem to have a problem with the fire pits. We have a ceramic cimney and I can never get it lit.

Nikki- I bet you can't wait to be on the mainland. I feel for you...living in such a small town i feel like I am stuck sometimes.

Alright....one kid up one to go....I will start to clean, that should wake Jess up.

Happy New Year everyone!

I am enjoying my last day off for awhile and planning on the big event of the day...a nap Lots of cleaning to be done, taking down Christmas decorations, etc...but Jim is heading over to a friends in a bit and I see some couch time in my future.

Excited about the new year and the new start. Had a Boca breakfast burrito this morning...16 g of protein in those things. Need to go think about something healthy for lunch and I'm doing the pork and sauerkraut thing for dinner too.

Happy New Year guys! Here's to a fantastic 2008 for everyone.

Happy New Year everyone.... I am just getting ready to take the dog out for a "wog" (a combination walk/jog). Then later tonight I am heading out to yoga. Not much else on for today. I will pop back on later when I get a chance.
