Good morning all!

Another busy day today but I did get up at 5:00 and do my dreadmill for 30 min...yeah! Better post and then come back to finish so we don't have dupes

Ok, I'm back. So I met with the fitness nazi yesterday and got my workout routine. I shouldn't call her that...she's very sweet...but VERY young...I want to see her when she's forty (evil cackle here....did I say that out loud??? bad lori!) So, she gave me my exercise "prescription" (did I mention I'm a bad patient???). I need to do 35 min of cardio 4 times a week, strength training 3 times a week, and flexibility exercises 5 times a week. We also talked about diet for a long time and I was telling her that I had done WW in the past and been successful, but that my dad's doc had recently put him on SB for his type 2 diabetes. She said they're both good plans but she's much more in favor of WW and eating "healthy" because she doesn't think anyone can sustain a higher protein, low carb diet long term as a life change. Better to work on incorporating more lean protein into your meal plan and eat a balanced diet than to slice out the carbs. So....I rejoined WW online yesterday. I'm also going to start counting my calories, fat, protein and fiber in a food journal.

Have you guys tried the Kashi "hearty"? It's like these little oatmeal packets, but it's got a little oatmeal, but lots of other whole grains. It's 150 cal, 5 g fiber, 8 g protein, and 2 g fat. It says to make it with 1/2 cup of water and I thought ewwww....so the other day I made it with milk. It was ok, but not great. Well, this morning I decided to try it again after my little workout and I don't have any milk in the fridge so I used water...it's great! Much better with water. Must cook the whole grain better...weird, but good. Also sitting here with my starbucks seasonal brew...mmmmm!

Ok, gotta get my rotund rear into the shower and head to work. Hope you all have a fantastic day!!!

Lori T

I was wondering who would be first...I busied myself with anna's bday thread to see who would start the daily!

Ok, yesterday....not such a good food day....didn't stick to the plan, didn't really have a plan that was realistic for my day....but, that's ok, back on track today and getting ready to have some coffee and map out the day...it helps that I grocery shopped yesterday and now have some decent WW food in the house.

Mike left for deer hunting yesterday. Stopped by the mainland house, the masons started digging the footers for the new foundation. Signed my life away on a home equity loan to pay for the construction. Made about 10 stops running my errands yesterday. The vet gave me some meds for the dogs nasty ear infection. That's about it in a nutshell....ok, be back later....

Morning Lori....and Lizzy....I know she's got to be here already!

Hello everyone,
hey gals I'm here, needed to sleep in since had to work Macy's until 11:30 so that meant didn't get to bed after midnight!! So no shower this morning. Managed to get breakfast in too. So wiped but what can you do. Next week I do 4 days. 1 day in mid dec so far working until 12:15am but it's a weekend. Water wasn't good, but did walk around a lot @ the store. Scale shows still up. Guess that 139 was a fluke, not officially weighing in yet.
Looks like I'm back doing extra duty @ work today, not getting a clear answer why it didn't happen. Guess the gal that was doing it was complaining.

Lori- hope that exercise rx works out for you.@ least you have a gym @ work. you would thing they would have one in my line of work, they do have a walking path. but takes so long to get there from my floor, can't really do it justice.
Nik- plan better for the day, not easy I know. Have a good one.

take care everyone
Lizzy

Morning everyone,
Lori-welcome back to the cult...looks like we're all realizing that WW is what works for us. It's so hard to take "advice" from someone half your age isn't it? I am signing up for a bootcamp training session at my gym as a christmas present, from dh, and my stipulation was that I do it with the one trainer who is actually older than me (and could kick my a** with one hand, lol). I'm such a bad patient as well

It's actually not been too bad a start for me. I made an excel spreadsheet that tracks my points, cals, fat, fiber and protein. It's easy to see where I'm lacking. For a vegetarian, I have a heck of a time getting all my veggies in. I just have to make time for a big salad during the day

Ds has his holiday concert today. Glad I tried his dress pants on last night. They're an 8, but a really small 8. I can't believe I hadn't tried them on him already, yikes, they were tight and short, lol. So it's a trip to the store this morning for me after the gym.
Must get to work, lot's to do today in such little time.

Nik-I told dh he has to sign the mortgage paperwork at closing with his eyes shut, so he doesn't see what we're actually paying for this house with interest, lol. I hope I can stay married so I can live in it

Ok, gotta go, could waste my morning talking to you lovely ladies and then my day would be really stressful...well, more stressful than it will be otherwise. Peace.
Sue

Good morning ladies.

The past few days have been a whirlwind.
Long story short...Kevin is being sued for a credit card debt. I have been researching everything to death and am about to write an answer to the summons, but on Monday I have an appt with a lawyer to look it over to make sure it is alright. Like I said, it is old and we certainly do not have the $ to pay this thing. They wouldn't settle in the past so now I have to throw everything I can think of at them......plus the fact that it is beyond statute of limitations so that right there is going to help...in addition to violations that I have the collector and the lawyer on. I found all the case law to back it up and the statues.
Soooo Kevin is being a Fudd this morning too, Nik.

Ohhhhhh I spoke to Terry last night. Kimberly is in the hospital!! They think it is her appendix....all tests except that part where they see if the area is tender are pointing to it. She said she would call or text with any updates, so I will keep you guys in the loop as you keep them in your thoughts.

On the diet front....becase yes it is a diet at this point. Food has been good this week, surprisingly enough. I have T minus 3 weeks left and I can start working out again for a while until I decide whether or not to have the surgery. I can't do this surgery while Kevin is on the road come January....just no way I can do everything by myself. The recovery time is 2 months, although I can start driving again about 2 weeks later. I want to see if I can't strengthen the leg up doing things my way.....going to the Y once the holidays are over and I am cleared to do stuff.

Alrighty......gotta run and do some work.

BBL

Jen

Jen- Thanks for the information on Kimberly..poor kiddo.

Quickie from me because I have a lot of work to do this morning. Then I want to take my DS who has been very patient with Mommy sitting at the computer too much the last few days to Mc Donalds for lunch...I think I'll have the Asian salad if they still have it or maybe the Santa Fe salad..High Five for Weight Watchers... day 4.. and feeling good!
