Really Crappy Saturday!

Ok, so we all know the dog has had this diarrhea issue for a few days now, well it hadn't gotten any better by this morning and he started vomiting also...he's been going downhill for some time now, so I packed him up in the car and took him off the island to the vet with the intention of having him put to sleep...since it was sat. my local office didn't have a vet in and I had to run into the "home" office in another town. The vet (not my usual) came out to the truck and we decided to go ahead with the putting down...the doc got him out of the truck, took him inside and we talked for a long time about symptoms, the meds he's on, etc....long story short, this vet feels that the prednisone the dog is on is making him worse off, and that the dogs obesity is adding to alot of the problems, so he kept Mav and is going to wean him off the pred. and try another medicine and put him on a strict diet and get him to lose about 12 pounds, he's 92 pounds right now. He said he can't give me a young dog back, but can hopefully add to the quality of his life.....that was good news, but guess who's mad? Yeah, the husband....what a jerk...he was actually pissed cuz I didn't come home with a dead dog in the truck!!!!! He's not an animal lover and that I can understand, but how about some compassion for me...his wife....

Anyway...I'm emotionally drained today...sick with the sinus funk on top of it all....but I will say...I did not reach for food today and I'm strongly on day 3 of NS and didn't let my emotions derail me....Yay for me!

Ok, I'm off to check on the jackass's dinner.....

Oh, by the way...I found the source of the runs...the dog ate one of those hard rubber superballs....I won't tell ya how I know that ....some things are just better left unsaid....LOL....
