Second of all, I have to agree on your friend situation Sue. Total irony. I'd continue to stay clear of her. My sister in law is like that, and I avoid her ass like the plague. Sorry about your ticket though. Bummer! I once got pulled over in the circle drive at dalton's school, and he was late for crossing guard duties, so I jumped out of the car and asked the cop to please pull me over after I made it though the drive way so that dalton could do his duties....ha! (suprised he didn't draw his weapon and ask me to step back!!) So he follows me though the entire drive with his lights on. Only a McCollum. I swear.

I'm sorry Angela...we cannot be friends anymore...if we can't agree on Mike Rowe, it's over! J/K of course....I'm getting such a visual of you pulling through the school parking lot with a cop behind you with lights on...LMAO...you are right, only you!!!

So last night we caught the 8 pm boat home...got down to the dock and there was the coast guard, ambulance, fire truck etc. down at the end of the dock....apparently there was a car in line waiting for 8:00 boat, it was the first car in line....there was a dog in the car, he accidentally put the car into gear and it drove off the dock into the lake!!!!! The owner jumped in the water to save the dog, but sadly the dog died. What a bummer....but thank goodness no children in the car...so we were rerouted to another dock down the road that the ferry could pull in at, what a mess and how sad, huh?

Allison...I'm hoping to something with my photography some day, just not sure what yet, and I really want to take some classes, hopefully when we finally move to the mainland. Thanks for the compliments!

morning girlie girls. it is gloomy here today-they predicted some mombo storm was going to hit...but so far no rain-just ugliness. i love the sun...wish it would come out.
still doing good...today is day four. tom arrived so i feel funky...and bloated. yuck! lots of water (and midol) planned for the day.

Nik ~ That's really sad about that dog!

Is it just me, or are there a lot of people going through hardships right now? It seems that a lot of people around us are going through some really bad times.

Well, chin up is all we can do, right girls?

I have to confess my eating hasn't been super OP lately, but homelife has been really stressful so I've just been focusing on eating healthily - healthy portion sizes, balanced meals, getting exercise, etc., all the things that WW teaches - I just don't have the patience or the mental bandwidth to journal right now. It seems to be working for me though, I was down 1.5 this week...maybe I needed a break from the numbers anyway.

One thing I do have to do is update my walking chart! I've been tracking my walking progress all summer on the gmaps pedometer site and I've walked over 100km since May! I'm hoping to get a lot more in before the snow comes!

Well, that's it for me for now ladies, although I have to second the thumbs down for Mike Rowe, sorry....anybody here know about Mike Holmes? Yum!

Sarah, I think you're right. We were just saying that there seems to be a vortex around us of all these tragedies and illnesses.

Nik-what a sad story. I always freak out when I see pets in cars because around here, it will kill them pretty quickly. So sad for the doggie

back from work, still feel a bit stuffy. Droppe off my application to Michaels. No one around to interview w/, just as well not great voice. LOL. Gina just looking for a PT job to supplement my income when mom goes back to FL for the winter. Checked my other favorite stores in that area (petsmart, best buy and bed bath and beyond) and they arent' hiring yet.

Nikki- cool about the costumes, how sad about your friend and what happened to the doggie
Gina- hope you found the class ok. As for the dress I just make sure the dress is a bit on the loose side,some how I can angle my arms to do it.

I've had a busy two days but just wanted to pop in and say hi! I'll try to be on tomorrow but have tons of errands.
My luck is changing, my mom gets her keys to her new digs in one week, did you hear that ONE WEEK! YIpppeeeeeee!! Can you say happy dance?

OK...because it's just so unbelievable, I have to share it.

I have a friend whose partner of about 5 years now has a child who was abducted by his ex wife and taken to Mexico. He's been working with the FBI for a decade to find her. Every time they get close, someone tips the ex wife off and she's gone when they get there. Total corruption in the Mexican gov't. Anyway, they just finally caught her, and he's in Mexico, and his daughter is now 12 and has been poisoned by so many lies about him. Apparently her mother told her that she was molested by her grandfather and that when they confronted him, they were kicked out onto the street. WTF? He says that she is so damaged that he doesn't even know if he's going to be able to bring her home. She was 2 when she disappeared. He's been waiting all his life for this. He is lost and has no idea what to do.
I'm so sad for him, and for my friend, who has no idea how this is all going to affect her life and their family (she has two kids that now consider him their dad). I've been trying to research reunification and see if there is some expert that he could call to help, but the sad truth is that so few kids get found that there isn't much help for them.


WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON? I feel like pretty soon the earth is just going to open up and swallow everyone whole.

OK, I'm taking my son to bed and intend to hold onto him very tightly for awhile.
