Default Sunday, Sept 16th

Hello everyone,
woke up later than usual( 6;30) which is always a good thing. Slept well again. Very stuffy due to the antihistamines taken @ night. So no fair for me today, also had just looked up the street festival I was going to go to and it was yesterday
Oh well will find something to do around here. Did a lot of my needlept yesterday. But don't want to do it all day. Never did work on it when was out sick. Finishing up a serving of nik's famous banana pancakes ( had frz a bunch earlier this yr) and loading myself up w/ meds. Kind of chilly this morning. around 50. Do want to build up my stamina w/ another walk. Took a slow 30 min one yesterday.
Will start off the new exercise thread in a few.

Sue- yum about the banana bread, but understand staying away from it.

take care everyone and have a great day
Lizzy

Hello again everyone,
finally decided what to do. Going to the fairly new casino in RI and do my penny slots( alway stick w/ those). I haven't gone in a long time, and will actually be a bit cheaper than me going to the fair believe it or not. We'll see if I break even. Wish me luck!

Lizzy

Morning gals,

Ok, I'm a bit better today but the ol' GI tract is still not happy with me Oh well, we all need a reminder about why we don't "over do it" now and again right? Yesterday, we went to a bike store and bought new seats and pedometers and water bottles for our bikes. Then when we came home, Jim went on a 10 mile bike ride and I went for a nap on the couch...hee hee. I think I'm feeling good enough today for a ride. Going to stick with water and coffee for a little bit though. May go next door and groom Tongo the horse for a little while. I love the smell of fresh hay (although my allergies don't) and I love her fuzzy little lips. I've been working with her a lot and I can get a halter and lead rope on her now and we go for a little walk around the pasture (well, she walks me honestly). I need to talk to Terry about horse breaking

Lizzy - have fun today but don't overdue it my friend. I'm sure you have cabin fever, but easy does it girl.
Sue - I was just looking at your stats. Looks like you and I are at the same place with about the same goals! Cool

I'm off to find the exercise thread. Have a great day guys!

Lori- Your horse is beautiful!!!!

Lizzy- Good luck at the slots!

This morning I am working in the Nursery at my old Church. My DS can go with me which is good because for some reason he never really liked going to the old Church. However he loves our new Church so I am happy about that! He actually asks every day if we can go to Church. My DD even likes it and wants to get involved with the Youth Group. We attend on Saturday nights which is so much easier for me than getting everybody going on a Sunday morning. I'll have to squeeze a walk in the neighborhood later. Acutally my DH is taking our son to watch the Cowboy's play at a friends house. I'll go when they are gone! I am so glad my DH is not pressuring me to go along. There will just be food temptaions and to be honest I really don't like football..........love basketball though! Well I'm off to get ready!

Hey Sue~ Care to share your banana bread recipe? I made some not to long ago and my DH loved it. I am not a baker but it was kind of fun! I have bananas in the freezer just waiting to be put to use! The recipe I used called for flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, eggs, applesauce, and bananas of course. I have no idea what the points were....Thanks!

Hey Allison,
I have no idea what the points are, but here is the recipe. I have replaced the eggs with egg substitute and it's fine. I haven't switched out half the flour for whole wheat yet.

Low fat banana bread

2 large eggs
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup smashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium)
1/3 cup Unsweetened vanilla almond breeze
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly grease 8 1/2x4 1/2x2 1/2-inch pan; dust with flour. Using electric mixer; beat eggs and sugar in large bowl until thick and light, about 5 minutes. Mix in smashed bananas, almond breeze, oil and vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt over mixture; beat until just blended. Transfer batter to prepared pan.

Bake bread until golden brown on top and tester inserted into center comes out clean, about 1 hour. Turn bread out onto rack and cool.

Makes 1 loaf.

Hello everyone,
home already. didn't do great w/ the slots, oh well it's rare that I go more than a few times per yr. Stopped @ the mall on the way home and ate Subway. Stopped @ my local Michaels and saw that they are hiring seasonal assoc. I've downloaded an application and will bring in probably tomorrow. Can't do weekends yet due to mom but will explain to the manager, that as of nov 1st I can be, or even sun afternoons I could do. So fingers crossed for me.
Lori- glad you're recovering. Love the pix of Tongo, beautiful coloring. Good for you for starting to bike. Do you start the new job tomorrow?
Allison- have a good day.
Sue- the banana bread sounds yummy.

now just going to kick back and watch nascar and do needlpt. Will probably need to clean around a bit too.

take care everyone
Lizzy

Thanks Sue!! I'll try your recipe soon. What's unsweetened vanilla almond breeze? Is it like Vanilla extract?

Lizzy- Better luck at the slots next time! Getting a part time job at Michael's sounds fun!! I'd have to be careful not to spend my whole paycheck there though....

Allison,
hee. I know what you mean. But have so many uncompleted projects right now to keep me busy. Might be able to keep under control. I'm sure my mom and sis would want stuff though if I get it.

Hey, All-
Back from the party. Girls had a great time! As luck would have it, there was a travel football team staying at the hotel also, so the 13 year olds got to see show-offy boys at their best. Plenty of outstanding cannonballs into the pool for their admiration. It was hysterical. According to the girls, though, boys are still pretty icky...at least for mom's benefit. They seemed to be a little more interested in them than they let on....What a hoot!

Did alright with the food. Just took a couple pieces of pizza out of the box and had the girls take all of it over into their room for the rest of the night. Out of sight, out of mouth.

I think a part time job at Michaels would be fun! I would probably buy everything in sight, though. That might not be good. Imagine all the deals you could get once you applied your discount!!!!! :-) And the recipe sounds great! I'm going to try that this week. Thank you!

Enjoy the rest of your day, girls! Get a good night's sleep and we'll start a new week strong tomorrow!

Pam
