Default Is it ok?

Hi, I am trying to do the "no white flour/no refined sugar" diet. What I want to know is this: is it ok to eat corn, beans, and/or potatoes? If so, should they be in limited amounts? What about carrots? Brown sugar? Even regular sugar? Can anyone help me understand? Thanks!

Everything about 'bad' carbs is related to its Glycemic Index.* When a food has a high glycemic index, you body metabolizes it very quickly.* The problem with this is that your body convert any extra calories to fat. Foods with low glycemic index'es are digested slowly. Your body has to work hard to digest them and since it's done slowly, very little gets converted to fat.* That's the technical definition of it all.

Here is a very general list of foods (you can look individual stuff up online)

Very Bad:* ** All Sugars, Items containing Fructose, corn syrup,...etc.*

Better but still bad.** Any food made from White flour or White Rice, Pasta.* In general any food that's had the fiber processed out of it.

Good:* Most Whole grains, unprocessed food.** Starchy things like potatoes, carrots

Even better.* Most all fruits (some better than others).* Especially raw without any process.

Best:* Virtually all Green Veggies (very low in calories, very rich in nutrients, high in fiber)

Forgot to add that when you eat bad carbs & your body converts it to fat - you get hungry again almost immediately and tend to repeat the process. * It's a vicious cycle.
