Default RE: Desperately Seeking Motivation

Hey there! What seems to work for me is I ask myself..."How badly do you want this to happen?? How much time are you going to waste? Who are you hurting if you don't go??" Then I answer my own questions..."I want this to happen more than anything right now! I have no more time to waste if I'm going to get there by summer. I am only hurting myself and no one else!" Of course catching a glimpse of myself in mirrors as I walk by them is always an addes motivator! However, not to burst my own bubble here, but I haven't had much success in losing lately though...I've not had much will power to control my eating and my time is not allowing me to get my walking and gym time in....I volunteer at my kid's school and babysit a 2 year old...so eveing time in the only time I have to myself and I always seem to want to just stay home and spend it with my family! I was really on a roll with the mall walking (I live in Michigan so it's a bit too chilly to walk outside with the toddler!!) in the mornings before his nap time...but I've been spending that time in our school library because our librarian quit!! I think I need to catch a much LONGER glimpse of myself in the mirror!! lol good luck to ya!! Let's keep in touch and maybe we can motivate each other!!! Pam

Hey all! I really need to hear what you tell yourself that gets you to the gym when you really don't want to! It hasn't become a habit for me yet, so please please please pass along your words of wisdom!

Action breeds motivation! It's hard to get motivated many times because we fail to realize that action breeds motivation. In those times we don't feel motivated, we need to just GET UP,GET IN THE WORKOUT CLOTHES, AND DO IT! Mant times I have found that if I just get activated, I can overcome the motivation blues! We're with ya on this one!

Just think about what you'll feel like when you leave the gym...it feels great!

I'm trying to have the perspective that I (and my body) DESERVE to be healthy, I deserve to have strong muscles and a nice body and a self confidence, i deserve to go for a run and be outdoors for a while or go to the gym and work myself. You really do deserve the body you want. So go to the gym. And if you can't just CAN'T get the motivation to go, at least do somestretching, breathing, and moving your body- the more you just notice yourself, your muscles that are growing... you'll want to go to the gym!
