Question Scales?

I need advice on a good scale. I figure my Buddyslimmers are much better sources than Consumer Reports. So, what type of scale do you use? The one I have weighs me 5+ lbs less than the one at WW and 8+ lbs less than at the MD and it's frustrating! I know all scales calibrate differently, but is there one that you have found more reliable than this? I would also like one that is a little more precise - the one I have only weighs in 0.5lb increments. Cheers!

I recommend getting a digital scale. With digital scales there is no guessing factor like there is with dial scales. I have a tanta scale that measures weght, body fat %, and how many calories you can consume to maintain current weight. My scale measures in .2 lb increments which is a little more acurate than .50 increments.

When you get a scale you should find a free wieght and place it on the scale to test for accuracy.

For example my 5 pound scale measures 5.2 on my scale so all measurements are 0.2lbs in the weighee's favor.

Okay I think I need a new scale. I can get on the scale and it says one weight and I can get off and get on again and I can gain 2-3 pounds. Then get back on a few minutes later to test it and now its back to what I originally was. I have a digital scale. I have a fresh battery in it. Not sure what to get. Any suggestions?

I have a digital Tanita scale, and I love it. I highly recommend it to everyone. Here is a link to in from Amazon: Tanita Scale A little pricey, but I believe it is well worth it. Especially for me, I needed something that was accurate up to 330 lbs.

I have a digital weight watchers scale which really doesn't make a difference because every scale I get on is different. They are basically used as a guide. Try not to stress on the scale but see how clothes fit and inches shed! The scale can be very evil lol lol lol

Very well put Angela!! It is too true that we put too much emphasis on the scale, and need to use them more as a general guideline. They're just one other tool to use on our way to being healthy active people. They aren't the end all, be all of our existence like we so often treat them to be.
