Default Running for Mortals Challenge Starting Oct. 1st!!

Hello everyone! I joined BS a long time ago and quit due to being sick and unable to exercise. Now I am much healthier and want to start on a program that will work. I know for me running will make the pounds melt off very fast. I have done a significant amount of reading on different programs. Some are just too quick to get you running which in turn causes injuries. Being overweight, we are even more prone to injuries. That is why I LOVED the "Running for Mortals" approach. It builds you up slowly and even a true couch potato can be running in 2-3 months safely.

So what are the drawbacks....for those who get bored easily, running is just AWFUL! I know I will dislike it if I am not proactive. I already invested in an MP3 player and put all my favorite fast tunes on it. Another drawback is the weather. I plan to do most of my running on a treadmill, but for those who do not have one, running outside will have its fair share of challenges come winter time.

I am starting this October 1st for many reasons. The number one reason is we are moving in 2 weeks and I can't start before then. But posting now gives people ample time to get geared up for this. We can exchange ideas, helpful hints, and discuss which program is best. There are a few different programs in the book, but I plan on doing the weight loss program. There are 3 phases and each phase is 13 weeks long. That means we will be done with phase 3 by the end of June 2010...perfect for next summer! The end of Phase one will take us to the holidays....hopefully some of us can buy some new, smaller holiday outfits!

So anyone interested?
