"Technically" I agree with you.

BUT just in my own experience, I find that when any given muscle group of mine has been worked consistently for a period of time, those muscles "tighten up" and give a leaner, more toned appearance. In the case of the core, it works sort-of like a girdle.... When those muscles are tight and pulled in, the waist becomes smaller. Don't get me wrong, I agree 100% that the fat has to be burned with cardio. But I just also believe working the muscles can pull it all in some.
