I agree with the everybody here bike is a great idea. If you can walk you might want to check out the WATP by Leslie Sansone (Walk Away the Pounds) Great workout, fun to do and you do at at your own paste, you don't have to do what you can't, all you have to do is just keep walking Once you are ready to do a little more, do it I love them and they burn a ton of calories because you move different muscles when you walk different ways...side ways, forward etc.
What I also love when my knees are acting up is the elliptical. It is very low impact on your joints as well
