Exclamation Fitness Survivor #5 - Check In Thread

Partners!

Here are the Rules again Ladies. Make sure you read and understand them
Be sure to check in in this thread daily OR within 3 days to avoid elimination.

Survivor #5 Rules

You will Be AUTOMATICALLY Eliminated when and if..........
- You have the lowest % of weight loss for the week and don't save yourself. Each week....the 4 people (2 partners) with lowest % of weight lost will face elimination. They will have till the next weigh in to save themself by having the highest % of weight lost then the other.

- You do not check in within 3 days (unless you post that you won't beable to check in due to holiday or whatever)

- You do not workout for at least 135 minutes week (this is the equivalant of 3 45 minute workouts)

- You do not weigh in by Monday morning

You will Automatically get an immunity card if ................

- You have the highest % of weight lost for the week (this will only be in effect for the first 4 weeks)

Immunity cards are transferable so....if you'd like to save someone else from elimination...you can give up an immunity card for them. Immunity cards can be saved and used when ever you wish.

That's it ...Nice and simple ...except for the challenges of course

CHANGE IN PLANS FOR SURVIVOR #5

I was thinking about this lastnight For Survivor #5...I'm going to pair you guys up in partners once we have all our players . This will help you be more accountable because you're not going to want to let your partner down! You will weigh in as partners and I'll do a percentage of your weights combined.

If you and your partner are up for elimination and don't save yourselves by having the higher % of weight lost then you are BOTH eliminated. So....that would put 4 people up for elimination instead of two. If your partner gets eliminated because of not weighing in OR not checking in...then you'll be in it on your own. Don't worry though....by doing % of weight lost...it will still be fair .

As partners....you'll be responsible for motivating each other etc. On that note....lets see how Survivor #5 goes!

Hey All! Ok...I'll start with sharing a bit about me for our Newbies I hope you'll all do the same!

As you know....I'm the creator of Fitness Survivor. I'm also a Personal Trainer that found myself with weight to lose after having my 2 beautiful children . Since giving birth to my second child....I've lost the better part of 40lbs and currently working on the last 10lbs of stubburn body fat.

I LOVE motivating people and offering good sound educated advice when I can. That's why I started this challenge

Well....I don't want to bore you so....I'll leave it at that...short and sweet I look forward to getting to know all our Newbies AND surviving another Survivor with the veterans of Fitness Survivor!

Ok... me next, I guess.

Like Michelle, I gained the extra weight having my two kids. Started getting big about 7 months into my first pregnancy, and nearly two years later, after having my second baby, I found myself at nearly 200 lbs! I really didn't want to go above 200 ( I obviously weighed more than 200 before giving birth the second time, but I didn't count that cuz a big part of it was the baby herself. LOL) so I felt like I *had* to get started. It was tough going until I stopped breastfeeding ( so many people say it HELPED them lose weight, but for me, it just meant I was stuck in a seated position most of the day with a baby attached to my boob, and I was hungry all the time! LOL So... no help there!!) But I was able to maintain, at least, for a while, and finally started losing weight about a year ago. In that year, I've lost most of the weight; only 5 or so more lbs to go til I hit pre-pregnancy weight, but due to the migration of my body fat to more undesirable areas, I'm going to try to get down to 125 by this summer. Actually, I would *love* to be able to do it during Survivor #5!!

*Went back and read it.... That was kind-of a boring life story. LOL But oh well... That's me.

Hi everyone! I am a stepmom of 4 kids and want to be healthy and strong for them and for my boyfriend. Last year I lost 70 pounds and have gained back almost 20, grrrrr, but I am determined to get rid of it and keep it off!

I'm excited about this challenge because I need the motivation to get going again.

Hey all =)

I'm Michelle, a 19yo college sophomore working on my degree in Psychology. As of right now, my plan is to get my bachelor's in Psych, go back and get a degree in Nutrition & Dietetics to be a RD, and then get my personal training certificate....if this all goes as planned, I'll end up being some sort of weight loss/fitness counselor or something so that I can help young men/women accomplish the same thing I've been struggling with for the last year and a half...weight loss!! My journey through this has motivated me to pursue a career in the field so that I can help others!

Anyway, over the last year I've lost about 50lbs and I've gone from a size 18 (sometimes 20) to a size 12 and about 167 pounds ( I know my weight ticker says 165...that was my lowest a few weeks ago). I want to get down to a healthy 140 (I'm 5'7") and about a size 6 by the summer!! It would probably be the first time in my life that I've been at a healthy weight.

I'm new at survivor and I can't wait to get started!!

Wow Michelle I want to do nutrition too... but I love my current major too much I think I need to look into it...
I also HATE biology...so that could be an issue. Hmmm

I'm a college student studying architecture, and married to my sweetheart. We got married in July. Love him to death but he is such a food instigator! LOL ..

I lost 30 lbs in the 5 months before our wedding then gained 15 back in the month or two around our wedding... and since then haven't been able to lose any... Just up and down in the 210's basically. (Although it is better than going back up to the 230s)

I've always been over weight-- I've no concept of "skinny". Compare me with Shanon/Mike on TBL

I'm to the point where I just want to give up right now-- I've been avoiding BS for the most part but I think if our group(s) get more active I'll get back on track...

I'm at a high risk for diabetes, heart disease, etc-- it's all in the family and of course, I have a disease that makes you more prone to it. I'm terrified of getting diabetes as when I Was younger my grandmother lived with us and I used to watch her give herself insulin shots (At the dinner table no less... ugh)

I've a lot of emotional, physical, and psychological issues which makes it very daunting to try to lose weight-- I've very much of a "failure" attitude. I'd probably get diagnosed with depression of I went to a psychologist, but I don't want to do that-- I think there's too many people getting diagnosed with it. Still, I grew up in a very stressful, emotionally straining environment. Which I'm sure helped pack on the pounds and made me "mature for my age" as everyone puts it. Most people think I'm about 5 years older than I am...

So here I am!! Thank God for BS!

I'm Monica. I actually joined this site because one of my friends (also named Michelle) linked me to this contest.

I've always been overweight. No concept of *skinny* like some of y'all have admitted. I did lose about 60 pounds 8 years ago on Atkins - from almost 230 down to 170. I somehow just stopped for some reason, stayed at 170 for about two years, and then put about 40 of it back on over 3 years. It took me a while and a lot of delicious, delicious fries, but I did it.

I started dieting, kinda Atkins, kinda low fat, depending on the week. Got myself back down to 194, joined Weight Watchers 9 weeks ago, and am now down to 184. I really think Weight Watchers is perfect for me and my body type.

I worry about the Partners thing. I don't want to let anyone down, and sometimes, my body just will NOT let go of the weight for a week or so, but by God, I'm gonna try!

I'm 5'0, and my goal is 124.

Last week I went to Banana Republic and bought my favorite pair of jeans in a Size 12 instead of a 14! So I'm exceedingly happy about that!

Thanks for starting this Challenge, I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm doing weight watchers too . . . really I think it is perfect!

I have been overweight pretty much my whole life. I thought I was fat as a teenager, that was nothing compared to where I was after college. But, I have always been an athlete too so being active isn't hard for me. The last year or so has been really rough on me and I had let myself put on about 15-20lbs. I saw photos of myself at my baby sisters wedding and realized this time I really needed to do something about it. Anyway, things have been going well for me. I have dropped about 30lbs in 3 months and I am feeling better than ever and ready to keep going!

Hi everyone!

I've always been on the heavier side but it got worse when I was in high school. I developed an eating disorder and dropped from 155ish to 115 in a matter of 2 months or so. Over the years I have gained more and more weight. When I met my husband I stopped dieting and gained an additional 50 pounds. I have since tried many diets- Atkins,Susanne Sommers, Weight Watchers. Everything worked some but wasn't sustainable for me so I put all of the weight back on and then some. This time around I am counting calories and like it so much better. My real motivation to finally lose this weight in wanting to start a family.

So there you have it. My life story in a nutshell. Haha!
