I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING - I DID A LITTLE OVER 5K - WITHOUT KNOWING ITON 2/19/09 when I did my virgin test walk/jog/run - Whooo hoooo to the less edumucated!!!!! ME!!! I always wondered what a 5K is right? So I googled it and wow - I didn't know I did it!! I know it was between 45 and 50 minutes but I was not keeping tracking of time as it was not my goal. Of course on Tuesday - it's just getting in a few miles. My hamstring is very sore.

How exercise & buddyslim love saved me! LUV U GUYS!

I have to tell you how honored I am to be a part of this community. The tribe love -KAMA, ANJ, LORI, DEBBIE, NICOLE AND TRACEY all pulled together and refuse to let me crawl into a hole and hibernate.

Buddyslim - you guys I love you! You gave me the kick I needed when for once I started doubting myself.

I used to deal with depression for 10 years. These last few days was hard but with you all by my side I’m better!!

My bootay went out there and did it!

Before I forget - yes I ate a ton before classes:

Organic whole wheat pasta w/ meat & onion sauce, 4 kiwis, 1 large banana, 2 hard boiled eggs, 1 thigh and leg chicken - steamed, a ton of water and some cheeze it.

THAT WAS NOT THE RIGHT MIX GUYS!

See I read an article this morning that pushed more protein then carbs for exercise - well I tried it today and it didn’t work. Next Monday I will go back to my high carb low protein for a 3 hour day.

I did two classes - the hardest which was Step and Kickboxing. I’m home now and in 3 hours I will do my own 1 1/2 hr yoga w/ Rodney Yee dvd’s.

Tomorrow I am taking a day off cardio and just do weights and push-ups.

Well - what can I say but to thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!!!!! I needed you and you came through.

NOW OFF TO READ BLOGS AND PLAY IN THE FORUMS!!!!!

2/24/09 blog

320 push-ups & back to goofy me! *Salsa time*
Posted February 24, 2009
File under: Weight Loss

WOW!! It feels so good to be back at work, chatting with the chatterbox tribe mates and being on here with you guys!!!!!

I am refreshed and ready to do it!!!

320 - yep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! got that extra 20 in I wanted to meet goal of increase!! Whoo hooo I love the push-ups (yes regular ones) because I know someone is going to ask me that questions and I did them with better form then before. I told my triber mate Nicole that I was taking it low low low to the ground and bumped my head a couple of times. That’s the goofy me back.

I love my oatmeals and apple combo in the morning! It gives me a ton of energy.

I’M BACK AND BETTER THEN EVER!!!!!

So I was going to do pure weights today but decided - Salsa baby Salsa!!! See it’s fun but I don’t sweat like I normally do in kickboxing. Good fun cardio I can do for an hour.

I notice a bunch of people are seeking motivation……you have to find it within yourself. You need to look in that mirror and say - I can do it right now!!! Not tomorrow - right now!!! Today is the day. So go out there and do what you have to do to get your workout in and food in!!!!!

BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!

Running my a$$ off & still no lyon chasing me!*HOT water - good for you*

Before Salsa hip shakin’ class I warmed up with a 10 minute 1 mile RUN - all the way!! YES YES Don’t know if that’s fast or slow but hey, one mile closer to the marathon. I plan on doing a 3 or 4mile walk/jog/run training on Thursday. This was just a preview. I didn’t get tired until the 8th min. Improvement? Yes

Then I finished it off with upper body weights to work out the rest of the muscles the push-ups didn’t address - not that there is any really.

CHINESE STEAMER TIME!!

2869947.jpg

The $30 steamer that leads me to eat better is shown above. The bottom compartment holds about 3 gallon of water. The two center pieces have holes for water to pass through and cook the food. So I put meat on one tier and my veggies on the other tier. This is a very large unit. Cooking is slow but the food - delicious!

I find that steaming my cut up apples, yams, sweet potatoes, taro roots and chicken and fish is the healthiest way to eat. I know others season their food but I don’t because I have been cutting sugar and salt out of my diet.

If you are looking for an alternative cooking method - this is the safest way to go. Hydro power - see - it’s good for cooking too!

As I told Deanna, Tina and Amber yesterday, an alternative to steamed apples which is soooo good in your morning oatmeal, as Tina pointed out is microwaving it, or I’d say use your rice cooker to steam it as Nicole did with her chicken. For Brihanna, I keep the steamed apple in a tupperware at work. It last about a week a the most -1 apple per oatmeal breakfast.

Energy - you know why I always have a ton of energy? Because I feed my body the right FOOD. If you are tired, feel sluggish - the first place to check - what are you feeding yourself? If you are eating processed food - that is usually the number one reason. The more you cut it out the better you will feel.

I know this because I used to feel tired ALL THE TIME!! Now as I eat better and better I feel like I will fly out of my own skin but in a good way. Your body will thank you for feeding it good food.

Thank you steamer for your contribution to a healthier me - You are my best food cooking friend!

WEDNESDAY - fun fun time!! Whooo hooooooooooooooooo kickboxing and Pilate!!! Can’t wait.

Gotta log my eats pretty quick:

Accountability:
Breakfast: 2 vs of oatmeal w/ gogi berries and raisens, coffee w/ cream only
Snack: 1 apple, 1 english muffin, 1 cup plain popcorn
Lunch: 1 steamed chicken thigh, sweet potatoe chips 13 for 136 calories - had 2 servings
Snack: SUGARYSWEETS - OUT OF TIME
Dinner: baked pork and rice

My nephew is in the hospital - not sure why yet. May or may not make it to kickboxing and pilate.
I also have a very sore neck. Hard to look down or to the sides.

Will be back to catch up with both teams!! No exercise because of my stiff back and nephew
