Talking Exercise TV Challenge

This is the first challenge I'm creating. I don't know if anyone else uses Exercise TV... they have a website ExerciseTV and they are also available on Comcast On Demand (and I'm sure other cable providers may have it too). My challenge is...
On top of your typical daily workout, try one new workout from Exercise TV and post it here. They have hundreds of workouts, and a lot of them take less than 15 minutes. I think trying one new workout a day keeps your exercise routine fresh, and who knows... maybe you'll accidentally find something you want to do every day!
To make it even more of a challenge, let's see who can try the most new workouts by March 1st. You don't have to do a workout no one here has posted about before, but you do have to try one you haven't tried before! You can try as many you want in a day... but try to at least do one new one at least 3 or 4 times a week. If you have any other questions email me or post em here, I will check this thread a couple times a day.
I plan on starting tomorrow, but if you read this at a later date, don't be discouraged... everyone's a winner when it comes to being a loser (of weight) hahaha

Hi Martha! I was thrilled to find the free workouts on Exercise TV with my cable channel. Most of their workouts are too short for me, but I will use them to add onto my workouts and to try new workouts.

Last night after my weights session, I tried Cardio Sculpt, one of the 10-minute workouts. Not bad. The guy really likes lunges and squats I didn't like the push-up part at the end because it seemed out of place compared to the rest (like revving up to Super Athlete after a fairly basic workout!) It was a good extra push after weight training though.

That's awesome MJ! I agree that the workouts are too short, that's why I try to do 6 or 7 of them a day. Loooove my pilates though.
Jackie's workouts look pretty extreme, I will probably try one of those today.
Anyway, I hate doing pushups. Ever. Or blow outs or supermans or spidermans or anything that requires me to start standing, end up on the floor at some point, and then end up standing in a very short amount of time! hahaha! My body can't function like that!

I despise push-ups! I have to admit my upper body is stronger after making myself do them though.

Have you tried Cardioke? That is so much fun! I love it. I wish the full workout was on Exercise TV, but it's only a warmup and one song.

They used to have the whole cardioke work out... I wonder why they cut it back so far? I tried it, I am wholly uncoordinated... but the theory behind it is awesome! You strengthen extra muscles and burn calories through singing, and you can gague if you're working out too hard if you can't sing along. I will probably go back to it sometime and try it again, but I kinda have to be in the mood. My new favorite work out on there is the 1 mile booster... but I use 5 lb dumbbells so it actually feels like a workout to me. The Less is More workouts in general kick my butt too... they are called less is more for a reason, I think haha... I can physically only do them a couple times a week or I'm useless!!!
I was gonna work out so hard today with Exercise TV... but my roommate is home from work sick, and he is playing Grand Theft Auto in my workout room... AHHHH... so I'm hiding out in the bedroom yanking on my resistance tubes (that sounds dirty!)
I'm glad someone else enjoys the versitility of exercise tv as much as I do though!

Last night I tried the Firm Cardio Dance (I think that was the title)...it was 27 minutes long. I hated it! The Firm workouts are always so bland to me, no personality. The dance was repetitive and boring, and I didn't break a sweat even after 27 minutes. I won't be trying that one again! I'll try something else today.

MJ I am so glad you are in on this with me! I don't do so well with anything involving dancing... I have never really had any skills in that department! I ended up doing the Interval Training video yesterday... it just seemed like a lot of lunges, but I did get pretty sweaty. I dunno why I'm addicted to the 1 mile booster walk... it's so dorky and repetitive, but for some reason I always start my work out with that. The Abs and Back ten minute video with Amy Dix is kick ass, though, I think. Lots of new interpretations of the crunch... and the superman... ouuuuch... I love it.

Today I tried:
20 min. Hip Hop Body Shop
10 min. Bootylicious Buns

The Hip Hop one had some fun moves, but again, not terribly intense. I was barely sweating. I liked the buns workout. The most intense moves were at the end, down on the floor.

This afternoon I tried A-List Arms. I loved it! It's a short 10 minute workout but has some great combinations, like a bicep curl into a tricep exercise. I did it after an hour-long weight training video, so I felt it!

Last night I tried the Less is More cardio. I liked it, except I thought she got silly during the kickboxing part (twirls? during kickboxing?) Hmmmm. I was sweating by the end though, and I did A-List Arms again because I really like that one!
